I was thinking about the problems with the draft this year. A pm isn't going to notify someone if they are on CP. What if, next year, if you are selected as a GM, that you are required to pm your phone number to whoever is running the draft. Then, if they are taking too long, that person can reach the GM by text message and either get them on here to pick, or at least get his choice so that it can be posted. Just a thought. I've never participated in this mock because I know that I would have trouble keeping up. But I have always enjoyed watching it unfold. I have seen the frustration caused by people taking too long, so I just thought that I would offer up an idea that might help in future.

Well, I'm so glad that my idea brought such an extensive answer from you CoMo. Your in depth explanation of your reasoning is always so entertaining to read. That no really gives us some food for thought as to why you think that it's a bad idea. Thank you for your input.

You can get PMs if you aren’t on CP if you set it to send yoI an email when you get one. It’s not hard.

Something along these lines.

My problem is that when I get busy with life or work, I'm nowhere around this place so a PM doesn't work. Four years ago when I really screwed this up I went AWOL because my wife and I were selected to parent this awesome little dude who was just born by his birth mom. I mean I went from being a married dude to a Dad with no notice. Sure we wnet through all the adoption BS, but there is a difference from going from wanting a kid to getting to meet the liitle dude and bring him home a week later.

Now a text message would have allowed me to bow out quickly.

Maybe instead of a text we could use an app like Groupme, or something. I don't know., but something has to be done.

That or I think we have to institute a batting, on-deck, and in-the hole thing where people must provide a ranked list of three players when you are on on deck and the draft administrators announce what the actual pick is.

I wasn't aware that was an option. I assume that many in the draft also are unaware. That could be a good alternative then. Just have all GM's turn on that feature.

Your situation was unique. It’s honestly easier if someone just goes AWOL versus making a pick or two and then missing one.

Fair enough.

I haven't slowed down the mock at all this year. Guys, get your shit together.

TambaBerry 04-18-2018 09:43 AM

the thing is, you know you're in the draft just periodically check it. Its not something you have to be on all day long for. grab your phone refresh it see where your pick is and then close ti

Titty, Direckshun & chiefscafan all know the drill and have so little respect for the CP Mock and the rest of us. You momos need your CP Mock card pulled.

I never got a message saying it was my pick I would check once in awhile it wasn't my pick. I don't have time to constantly monitor this thread. It's way too much work I'm out.

The Washington Redskins select Deon Yelder, TE, Western Kentucky.
