MS answered that article. Instead of a red ring there will now be a red dot right in the middle of the power button when something is wrong. Now it will be the RDoD.

There is talk that this new unit puts out a serious amount of heat. Nobody really knows if that is a good thing or not right now.

Well, using heat of any kind on the CPU (when laying down it is one the right half of your box) will result in the unit automatically cutting power to both the CPU and the GPU, but yes, heat should help ruin your box at a faster rate.

I guess just simulate the way most of the others got the RRoD... lay it down on carpet in a closed space or possibly under a towel or something, and leave it running or play it for hours at a time. I guess that would be the best way. :shrug:

Traded in my old 360 for the new one.

It's ****ing beautiful. I had a first-run console with the 20GB HD, so this is a pretty big upgrade. HDMI, wireless, and it's really, really quiet. My old 360 RRODed on me twice, so I mainly got this one for the reliability and because it was a good deal at Gamestop.

yeah, but I am hearing this one is much hotter than either the pS3 the old Xbox. the only thing I can figure is that maybe it is just moving the hot air out better than the previous ones.

the other thing I am hearing is that the new unit won't get as hot if you keep it horizonal because of the vent location.

Mine's horizontal and I haven't noticed it outputting more heat. I haven't really tested it, though.

It won't matter much to me anyway as I always have mine horizontal and I keep it on the top of my entertainment center so it gets great airflow.

Just now playing the new Tiger Woods game.

Putting is a ****ing nightmare.

I used to be able to just "read" the green and sink putts all day long with absolutely no problem. This years game you actually have to hit the sweet spot on the putter and have a smooth stroke or you **** up the putt. I'm missing 5-6 ft putts like it's no one's business and it's pissing me off to no end.

This is why I avoid sports games like the plague. They try too hard to make them as "real" as possible and take all the fun out of it.

Can someone freshen my memory and the process for RRoD? Just have 360 #2 go capoot on me.

The Deadliest Warrior is a surprisingly decent way to waste $10. Somewhat reminds me of Bushido Blade.

Alan Wake is fun... but not much replay value IMO.... Splinter Cell is the same way, but both good games

I'd say the games are priced right - same as Wii games.

The Kinect itself is a tad overpriced. Almost the same as a Wii.

That is the basic problem with it too. It is basically the same thing as the Wii but it is an add-on so you have to have an Xbox360 to even use it. Why would anyone purchase a 360 specifically to have Kinect when they can just get a Wii?

To be honest, I don't see why people are excited about this peripheral at all. Most of the demos I have seen show it has a lot of lag and most of the games don't look fun for anyone but a 6 year old. Hell, my 8 year old commented on how boring it looked.
