So I haven't read through the thread. Are there any other reports with any certainty as to who the team is?

Hell no... Do you think Cassel could have done what Smith did in those last two minutes of the Saints playoff game last year? I don't think so |

you know what's funny? Trading a 1st for Green (and I think it turned out to be a good trade despite us not winning playoff games because he performed very well for us) is more comparable to the Matt Cassel trade than us trading for Alex Smith this year. Alex Smith has done something Trent Green (or Matt Cassel) never did (win a playoff game) and he also performed exceedingly well in that playoff game against the Saints two years ago. So fair is fair. This will be the most accomplished QB KC has traded for since Joe Montana. Again, these are just facts. I already went on a Facebook rant about Alex Smith. I want Geno more than anyone, or as much at the very least. I can still be objective about NFL players though, which seems to be tough for many on this board. |
Word of advice, might want a stud TE...he and VD had a thing and I don't think Moeki is gonna cut it

If it isn't a QB at 1.1, then I want a playmaker. A guy like Patterson, Austin, Milliner, someone who makes big plays. Especially with the depth we have available at LT with Albert and a strong FA class.

Also one HUGE snag in contract talks with free agent WR Dwayne Bowe is legit QB and that has been accomplished today. Bowe very happy |

It bares repeating... Matt Cassel vs. Alex Smith:
Matt Cassel - 62 career starts: 82 touchdowns 13497 yards 57 INTs 59% completion 80.4 passer rating Alex Smith - 75 career starts: 81 Touchdowns 14280 yards 63 INTS 58% Completion 79.1 passer rating Once again, how the **** is Smith better than Cassel? 13 more starts yet his numbers are slightly better at best. |
