How is he a better QB prospect? Especially after today?

Today matters more than the rest of his college career? Especially after today? What?

Today? Why would I weight today heavily in comparison to the rest of his body of work? Today doesn't change ANYTHING for me. It's an end of season vacation/exhibition.

As for why I think he's superior - he has excelled in 2 completely different offensive systems under 2 different coaches.

On the other hand, without Bobby Petrino, Tyler Wilson struggled to distinguish himself. Much like Chris Redman and Brian Brohm.

Today has emphasized questions people have had about him.

Yeah you don't watch college football very much, do you?

ROFL You're judging him after today's game?

Actually, he's correct. He really didn't distinguish himself this season after a very good 2011 under Petrino - who tends to have QB's with inflated numbers, a la Charlie Weis at Notre Dame.

There is also the concussion issue which tends to have a cumulative effect after the first serious one.

Wilson struggles with accuracy and mechanics at times, especially when trying to force the ball downfield.

He's a tough sonofabitch though, but that is also going to get him killed at the next level.

I wouldn't spend a first rounder on him at this point.

Such as?

He continually went through multiple reads after the snap, called good audibles at the line and put the ball where it needed to be more often than not in very bad conditions while under constant pressure.

He became animated when the refs blew the safety call, which should have been a 15 yard personel on Syracuse. That ended up being a nine point swing. I'd have been a little pissed as well. I have no problem with him expressing himself at that point and when he came back to the sideline, he got with the offensive line and was telling them that they were going to get right back in it.

He seems to be a solid leader.

Wilson lost his coach and his 3 best WR's. Kept everybody together and became the unquestioned leader and basically the coach since John L. Smith is the worst coach in the country.

The only real weapon on the Arkansas offense was Cobi Hamilton, a good WR, but a dropfest.

Despite that, Wilson had a 62% completion percentage, over 3,000 yards passing, only 13 INT's in 11 games and got his offense to rank 22nd in passing yards despite having the worst OL in college football and a non-existent running game. He looked just as good this year as he did last year, despite being surrounded by a bunch of fail.

Oh and Wilson has 8.45 YPA compared to Geno's 8.17. But I'm sure that means nothing :)

You dont have to convince me that Wilson is a top prospect, I already know he is.

But for all of the critiques you've laid against the Geno supporters, you just did the SAME THING.

This post is laden with hyperbole.

How so? Looks to me like I laid out nothing but the facts, sir.

I like Wilson, but has a Petrino qb ever prospered in the NFL?

Not that he couldn't, of course.

That stat means nothing, especially since most of Geno's passing yards are yards after the catch by Bailey and Austin.
