The last hour was pretty entertaining. Jackman & Ryder were hilarious, and the tag-match main event was solid. As for the ending, well, there's lots of options for how it can play out. I didn't see anything inherently wrong with the angle.

Aside from Mr. H's attempting to and failing to flip over a cart.

Yeah, Raw was shockingly fun considering how terrible NoC was. The main event angle(s?) is still confusing and overbooked and just downright awkward most of the time, but at least they gave themselves a lot of interesting options (not that I necessarily expect them to be able to capitalize). Jackman-Ryder-Ziggler was great, the Vickie-Swagger-Ziggler stuff was played pretty well, Mizark destroying Lawler was nice, and Miz and Truth are seemingly being elevated to some kind of Outsiders-style role.

Stuff was interesting, which is the last thing I expected to be able to say about a WWE show so soon after that abomination of a PPV.

Yeah, I actually felt like this Raw didn't totally suck. Expected Jackman to just be a walking commercial, and although he kinda was, they at least gave him a relevant story. And Ryder got on TV (was it just me or did he get huge pops?).

I'm really liking Ziggler recently. Hope his feud with Swagger is a good one. And the main event is getting weird. Thought I would hate the Cena/Punk team, but the match was solid. Interested to see where they go with this Truth-Miz thing, if anywhere. And I'm really interested to see if they've got a plan (yeah, right) for the women, or if they're just burying the heel divas to try & get Kelly over more...

I almost feel like they decided to try to get Punk over with the crowd as a face by aligning him with all the other faces. He teamed with Cena, doesn't seem to be pissed at HHH anymore and just doesn't seem to be as pissed off anymore. Kinda sucks IMO, but I'll keep watching regardless because I'm happy he's in a relevant, albeit awkward, storyline.

I imagine HIAC will suck, but I think they ought to either give Del Rio the title back (to keep him from going the way of Swagger) or let Punk run with it for longer than a month. Cena's gunna win clean though. By pinning both Punk & ADR. At the same time.

I have always really liked Ziggler. Saw him in a dark match at the last HIAC in Newark, I think it was. He was great in that match.

I doubt Del Rio becomes Swagger if for no other reason then he can talk. Even the backstage tonight with Swagger was awkward at times. That turn towards Ziggler was just so weird and stiff.

Personally, my favorite thing right now is Miz and Truth. Truth's crazy eyes and comments have been great since he turned. I was hoping they would win the titles to ensure they stay together, but this story line could be good too. Of course, we have all said "this story line could be good" only to scratch our heads later on.

Del Rio can talk, but until about 2 weeks ago, they didn't seem to have much faith in him to talk, seeing as how all his promos were the same up to that point. And agreed about Swagger, but he's just kind of an awkward dude (unless he's in the ring lol).

As for the Miz/Truth/main event story stuff, this could be really compelling if done right (how many times have I typed that?), but I have a bad feeling that it'll be someone lame like Funkman or Vince as the "higher power"/man behind the conspiracies.

And they keep teasing this conspiracy stuff in subtle ways but don't build on it enough. I couldn't tell if the ref crap last night is supposed to lead somewhere or if it was just another ref doing a horrible job of making a distraction look real, ala tonight with the ref not seeing Jackman. Although breaks should be given when non-wrestlers are involved.

I also don't think they will play it out correctly. Who were half those wrestlers in the back when they kicked Miz/Truth out? At the very least they have some story lines with a little hope. Even though it won't pan out atleast its something. Sad to say but in past years there wasn't even that.

I can't stand Ryder so I'm not the least bit sorry I missed that. I read about everything else that happened, which is good enough for me. My DVR can only handle 2 shows an hour, so I'm done with 9 pm Raw for the forseeable future. I can catch it later on youtube if I feel the need.

Speaking of Henry and Lawler:
Quote:

Jerry Lawler was taken to the hospital after the show last night with lower back problems after being slammed on the table by Mark Henry. There was a communications snafu as the company had ordered a gimmicked announcers table that would easily break for the spot, but the technical crew forgot to gimmick the table, unbeknownst by Lawler and Henry..

Not sure if real or part of a storyline, but they are saying that Jackman broke Dolph's jaw.

I seem to remember thinking that was a really stiff punch, either that or Dolph sold it like a champ. That'd be pretty shitty if he had to miss time because of it, I'm really starting to get behind him.

Yeah I have liked Dolph for a while now. I like how he wrestles. Just needs to work on the mic skills.

At this point I think it's safer for them to stay in FCW. Come to think of it, can we just stash Punk and Danielson there until all of the McMahons die in a plane accident?

big nasty kcnut 09-23-2011 02:07 PM

that mean up i was hoping maybe triple h find another woman and i marry steph and i run wwe my way.

I assume they're former ROH guys?
