Demaryius Thomas has been horrible today. I'm not convinced he's even better than Bowe. Give Bowe Peyton Manning and he'd be considered "great."

KCrockaholic 09-07-2014 08:59 PM

D. Thomas is much better than Bowe from a natural athlete perspective. Better speed and hands than Bowe. I've never seen Bowe take a screen 70 yards.

Production-wise, Demaryius Thomas has to be in your top 5. He's good and everyone who saw him with Tebow knew that, but he's not super talented like some of the other big name WRs.

In my opinion, he's not near as good as Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, AJ Green, etc. He might be about as good as Brandon Marshall though.

I'd like to see quotes...I think he's definitely more talented. I think Eddie Kennison is every bit as good as Marvin Harrison, that's for sure...He just never had Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning would have made Kennison a HOF'er

Whoa there, champ.

There was like a 7 year stretch where Marvin Harrison averaged 1,400 yards and 14 TDs. I have no doubt in my mind that he lucked out in being saddled with Manning, but can you really argue with that kind of production?

Dylan 09-07-2014 09:02 PM

Three Colts around the damn ball and not one of them could come up with it. That sums up this game.

You're joking. You used to argue round and round about this. I agreed Thomas was the more physically talented WR, but Harrison was a machine. His route running and hands were flawless, and his stats were off the charts. Any QB would've killed to play with a guy like Harrison.

I can most certainly argue it...

Peyton goes to Denver and suddenly Eric Decker is a premiere NFL receiver.

Marvin was a good player. Probably great. He also got dealt an incredible hand.

Kennison? Not so much. But flip them 1 pick in their draft and something tells me Eddie Kennison would've been HOF not JAG

I compare Kennison simply because he was drafted 1 spot in front of Harrison.

Peyton makes his playmakers better. A lot better.

Peyton makes those around him better; there's no doubt about it.

Eric Decker was never viewed as a premiere guy. That's why he only got something like $6 million per year.

Jimmya 09-07-2014 09:08 PM

I agree, Manning made Decker a great wr.

fishnut 09-07-2014 09:08 PM

I understand now. You've never had an opportunity to watch a good QB. You haven't seen, for example, Elway play with Vance Johnson (mediocre), Rod Smith (pretty good), and Shannon Sharpe (hof).

What you said above is something you could only make up if you had never watched a good QB before.

He had a tremendous chemistry with Peyton, no doubt.

Are you convinced Eddie Kennison couldn't have built a similar chemistry?

Do you think Marvin would have been a hall of fame guy had he been a career Chief?

Look, I've been on record with my Eddie Kennison/Marvin Harrison theory many, many, many times.

Marvin Harrison was no better of a talent than Eddie Kennison; he just got drafted 1 pick after Kennison and then stumbled into Manning a year later.

Manning has never, ever, ever had a guy like he does this year with Demaryius Thomas.

Truth be told; A franchise QB, an all-time great like Manning...makes a good receiver a great receiver, a really good receiver a hall of fame receiver.

Just like Tom Brady did with guys like David Givens.

Manning turned average TE's like Jacob Tamme and Bryan Fletcher into guys who made plays on a consistent basis at times.

Now he's making Knowshon look like a real RB.

You think that's coincidence?

Come on.

Compared to Tim Tebow? Any starting QB today would have made those WRs produce more than Tim Tebow was able to. Tebow was a glorified H-back trying to play QB.

Oh I'm sure Kennison would've put up better numbers with Manning for sure, but like half the people who watch football you get caught up in the raw Madden ratings. Harrison's route running and hands were 100 out of 100. The reason they had that chemistry is Harrison busted it every day in practice, and Manning knew where Harrison was going to be because he was good at the mechanics of actually being a WR... running consistent, sharp routes and catching everything that was thrown at him. Not just being a physical specimen.

ClevelandBronco 09-07-2014 09:15 PM

Disappointing. That was very sloppy.

penbrook 09-07-2014 09:15 PM

penbrook 09-07-2014 09:16 PM

tk13 09-07-2014 09:16 PM

One of the best arguments for Harrison is he once caught 143 passes in a season. 143. No other WR in the history of football has come within 20 of that number. Twenty. That's incredible. He was not just another guy who was propped up by Manning.

Dylan 09-07-2014 09:16 PM

the only enjoyment I got out of this game was watching Ahmad Bradshaw with a couple of runs and a great block for the TD
