Yes. The only thing that will be different is that if someone's draft clock expires, it won't automatically activate clock of the next player.

Only 40 picks until I get a veteran teammate for Phillip Rivers, and 20 picks till a rookie teammate.

A few years ago I was part of a Madden online franchise in which each team was drafted from the league's current player pool. Not only was it a lot of fun but we got the draft done in a few hours.

So it's certainly possible.

AustinChief 08-09-2011 05:43 PM

The St Joseph Stetsons are proud to select Jake Long as our starting left tackle.

Saccapoo would be so proud of me!

We're not playing games until after the real season is over so I don't see why this should be rushed, anyway.

Not exactly fair to be drafting once the season starts, considering our first season is based on 2011 performance.

True but the point is to get the draft done before anyone can see what will happen to players during their REAL games. Somebody gets injured in the pre season then that is valuable information to have.

OnTheWarpath15 08-09-2011 05:57 PM

I must say, I'm pretty happy that there have been a couple of full-reerun picks. I'm actually going to have a tough decision at 14.

Iowanian 08-09-2011 05:58 PM

Why will it not let me select/locate my draft choice, Adrian Peterson?

It's giving me errors and not showing his name....and showing someone above me a few picks as "on the clock" as well.

To each his own, but I don't like the Ryan or Charles selections. But I'm the asshole who makes fun of picks at his fantasy draft every year and then never wins.

I'll make my strategy public. I am drafting based on scarcity. I think there are very few elite LTs in the league and Jake Long is at the top of that list IMO. It was a tough choice between him and Joe Thomas but Long is younger so he won out.

Obviously this same strategy applies to QBs, but by the time I picked, all the elite QBs were long gone.

Hey, I need a franchise QB. In 2 or 3 years I may have something. Drafting at 19 in the vet draft means I'm not going to get a franchise guy there.

This isn't fantasy you ****ing moron. This is supposed to simulate real football, something you know next to nothing about. Would you TRULY rather build a team around Vick over one of the best young LTs in the game? If so, you are all sorts of stupid.

With 24 teams I think it can be managed pretty well. I plan to always have 30 to 40 veterans and 20 to 30 rookies on my draft board, and if I'm not around I'll turn it to autopick. I guess there's a little risk of some sort of run that gives me a weird pick, but right now it's all about drafting the best players. I can sort through 20 to 40 players without much problem.

Rivers was #2 on my board. He was lights out last year with a worse receiving corps than the Chiefs.

Yeah, you're all having fun. You've already picked. This talk doesn't potentially affect you.

Your discussion could alter the decision making of someone who hasn't picked.

I feel for ya dude. Your issue should be with gochiefs and not everyone else though. He's the one that pointed out who was left on the board.

Either way, I'm only in this for fun. If it turns out to be an addiction for me by the time our season is over I will take it more seriously. I'm going to really suffer in the rookie draft and on the defensive side of the ball though. I can draft a decent fantasy team and kicked some serious ass in some of my keeper leagues I used to do. Picking an entire ****ing team is probably going to prove to be too much for me though.
