My FIL would always want to eat at the one in Emporia when I was in college. It was a ****ing joke. It's gone now. Mom dragged me to one a couple years ago in garden and the collective IQ of the remaining patrons (it was full. Go figure. Garden City) was a good 5.5-6 but it was better than that shithole in Emporia.

The travesty of it all is that Emporia has (maybe had, IDK) some really great outfits to eat. It was an abysmal waste of dining opportunities.

Funnily enough, I have a fond memory of the actual soda there. The snack bar had fountain RC with shaved ice. So ****ing good as a kid. My dad used to bowl there in leagues a couple nights a week, so I was going there from the time I was a baby until I moved out of KC when I was 22. Chick in the snack bar loved me. Used to give me free sodas which turned into free beers by the time I was 16.

A really close buddy of mine from high school ran into Derrick Johnson at a Golden Corral after a game last season.

It turns out DJ goes there quite often after games with his family. Lol

The wife drug me there once. I took a couple of bites, then set there politely while they(her and her family) finished. Then after we left and was heading out of town back home, I whispered to the wife "would it be rude to ask your folks to go through a drive-thru or something to get some food?" She wasnt impressed:shake:

One small tid-bit I need to add is I was 3/4 drunk. I thought I could of ate the butthole out of a skunk, I guess they dont serve skunk:(
