I am not so sure about that.

Marshall is the only guy on that Bears team last year that didn't just quit.

He's a better route runner and gets better separation, and would do whatever it takes to make himself a target.

I like Bowe, and have defended Bowe in the past, but the reality is that his effort was just not there last year.

Bowe needs a fresh start with a QB who isn't afraid to utilize his ability to go up for balls.

Marshall, though, is a guy that might actually make Alex Smith look a little better than what he is.

Moot point, though, since the Jets have already worked out a deal.
I would have gladly given up and 5th, and giggled myself silly about it.

Marshall and Bowe were/are very similar receivers. You flip their QBs and you likely flip their career stats.

(Marshall worth 11 yards more per game over the course of their careers).
