I like the Jesus Lizard a lot - but that's not parallel with which type of music I'm looking for - The Jesus Lizard is much more heavy - like a Primus sort of....

Surprised anyone on CP has heard of TJL - i've posted their videos here on CP before, in the past. ha.

JFC, I can't believe I forgot them!

Saw them in a club a couple of years ago, it was one of the the best shows J had seen in quite some time.

I never liked Blind Melon....

This thread has covered most nooks and crannies. The only new one I could think of would be Sweet Water. I saw them open for Alice in Chains in the early 90's. I listened to their self-titled album a ton.

Soup is an awesome album.

Also I'm a gigantic Fugazi fan, with Minor Threat before that. They don't belong in this group honestly. They're their own thing for sure.

Love Cake, but sensed it wasn't what SR was looking for. At that time, outside grunge, I was more of a Cake, PotUSA, Blink 182, Sum 41, Beasties, Faith No More, Urge, Bosstones, Weezer, TMBG, Cypress Hill type.

Boisterous, jump around stuff.

Heh. I haven't even thought about Sum 41 in a hell of a long time.

I saw them play at a free concert in downtown Seattle. The Pain in the Grass series kicked all sorts of ass. Nice choice brah.

I agree. I saw Candlebox when they toured for their second album and they were absolutely god awful. My favorite song from them is "Change" and the douche singer spent half the song yelling at a security guard. The opening act that night blew them off the stage, which leads me to my other contribution - Sponge.

How Smashing Pumpkins hasn't been mentioned yet (did I miss it??) amazes me. This song inspires me every time I hear it. So good.

And no Sunny Day Real Estate? Whaaa?

Also, The Melvins.
