This wouldn't make a very good 30 for 30 special, but books/documentaries that I really dig are on old old old old school football. We're talking leather helmets and hideous striped uniforms, and NFL championship-winning Detroit Lion teams. Yeah, that old.

Since living in Madison, I've taken the time to go up to Green Bay in the summer when nothing is going on just so I can look at the Packer history museum at Lambeau. I find that shit fascinating, back when teams were run by businesses, and the game was something that you couldn't make a true living on.

These were cool, fun 30 for 30s. For anyone who has seen every episode neither ranks even in the top half of best 30 for 30s. Most of us knew their stories. They did not leave an iconic mark on history. Both of those probably would have been equally interesting if you watched a 5 minute YouTube highlight reel. I'm glad people enjoyed it. But by 30 for 30 standards, compared to the insane stories we've seen on that show... It didn't hold a candle.

And you're the only one to call me an idiot on this thread. This has been a fun thread for me and I hope for everyone else.
