Hos backs away from a pitch on the outside corner.....Gordon can't get the bat on the ball...Infante bunts in the 1st inning.......that's just an awesome team right there

Nasty pitch.

Sadly, that phrase is most applicable to his backup, Belly Butler.

WTH is wrong with Infante's bunt?

Ceej 09-11-2014 06:36 PM

Another reason small ball in the first inning is stupid, especially with this team.

Nobody clutch.

Can you imagine being these McDonald's actors? At LEAST 32 takes for all teams? Yeesh. What a payday though.

ChiTown 09-11-2014 06:36 PM

What a shit show that was

yeah how has ol' Infante done for you all? I hated seeing him leave Atlanta - He was solid while here.

Yost is conflicted on whether plate discipline is innate or a skill that can be learned. He mentioned witnessing the development and transformation of ultra-patient power hitters Prince Fielder and Barry Bonds. He also mentioned himself, the former Brewers catcher with a .237 career on-base percentage. "Some guys never learn it. I never learned it," Yost said. "I never learned to be a disciplined hitter. I would never take my walks because I really felt like I could hit anything they threw up there."

Yeah, but at the same time, people have been complaining all week about how this team doesn't take pitches. That's why a lot of managers want guys to swing in RISP situations. Both Gordon and Hosmer took strike 1 and let Buchholz set them up for the strikeout.

Other than it being one of the stupidest statistical plays in baseball? Nothing

We strike out w/a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs like 95% of the time. Might as well just pray for a hit.

Yup, had no business having Infante to bunt. What's up, does Ned think every game is going to be 1-0 or a 1 run game?

He has been Meh this year. Started out pretty good and lead the team in RBIs for most of the year, but hurt his shoulder and hasn't been the same since.
