I said the Chiefs need to do it on THEIR schedule. I'm betting they have one and that it's AFTER June 1. Let's see how it all plays out before we start saying who is right or wrong on an issue.

Way to take things too literally.

How much would you be willing to pay him?

I think the Browns kind of fudged things up with $40 Mil for Kruger. I'd say somewhere around $55-60 mil for Houston.

With that said, we can't really do anything with either Houston or Smith right now because of our cap situation. They're going to get rid of Flowers sooner rather than later in order to make room for these extensions.

So Tamba Hali money while Ford works through another 3 years of his rookie deal?

I'm good with that.

Like I said way back - go bitch slap your 2nd grade teacher - your communication skills are at reerun level.

he will get at least 70 million

Clay Matthews is the highest at 66 and hes wayyyyyy better than him. Like BossChief said, Houston will be the highest paid OLBer in the NFL whether its by the Chiefs or someone else.

He is going to hold out. This is just the start of things.

Don't forget, he was the last rookie to sign his slotted deal because he wanted the max amount possible.

That's not gonna change now, he will/is asking to be the highest paid OLB in the nfl and rightfully so.

The guy is our best defensive player IMO.

milkman 05-27-2014 08:56 PM

I think he's just holding out for the #55.

They should resign Houston but let him sit out awhile the price will go down they arent winning shit this year let Ford play.

They still need to pay Smith, Berry, and I still think you all are foolish if you dont think Charles asks for more money at some point.

All reasons why Flowers will either be cut or traded before the season starts.

No way he gets more than Matthews. Matthews is a 2-time All-pro with 5 Pro-bowls under his belt and 1 NFC Defensive player of the year award. Matthews also had multiple 10+ sack seasons while being the only threat on the Packers' defense.

There is no way that Houston should get paid $70+ mil. He isn't even the best OLB of his generation.

Thats ridiculous Houston is a better all around player than Matthews.

Not even close. Are you slipping back into homerism? Be always on your guard, young one.

Justin Houston also has multiple 10+ sack seasons. I'm not sure what you are getting at. Justin Houston has also been to the pro bowl twice in three seasons even though you are trying to lie about Clay Matthews being to 5 of them when he's only been to 4.

Justin Houston is on pace to project out way better than Clay Matthews in a five year sample barring injury. Plus on top of that, NFL contract inflation he is absolutely 4 million better than Matthews in the year 2014. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league not a what did you do in the year 2010 league.
