$$$ Manning agreed to take a pay cut to remain in Houston - He just didn't like how much of a cut it turned out to be so he was released.

again for people that have no clue, Kendrick Lewis did not take this guys starting spot.

Texans have DJ Swearinger and Shiloh Keo as their starting safeties, they also signed Chris Clemons, I don't even know where he fits in. Kendrick Lewis is 2nd/3rd string at best on the Texans, and Manning was the casualty of a numbers game. They got Clemons for peanuts and replaced Manning.

Our Manning connection might be through Toub.

Every team needs a few JAGs to perform, and Abdullah did when called on. He's not gonna win us a playoff game, but Daniel Manning ain't either.

I'm perfectly fine with Abdullah if he beats out Commings for FS or backs up FS or SS, provided we are looking to draft a FS > JAG to get ready. I'm not in the camp that I magically expect Commings to be > JAG.
I didn't say anything about Manning. He's a scrub too...

Manning would be a good signing. He's a solid, but unspectacular above average safety.

Still don't get what the problem was with Chris Clemons, he was pretty much exactly what we needed at FS.

Manning is a SS. Clemons is a FS.

They didn't want to bring in somebody that would have pretty much automatically beat out Commings...

I'm almost wondering if they're thinking about putting Berry more in the FS role, with Commings as well.

Something was going on with Clemons, his skill was much higher than his money.

Berry at FS, Abdullah at SS with Commings as your 3rd safety/CB. That's what they should be doing.
