Decent depth?

5 9?
so lack of height equals depth?

Great another midget. The Midgets aren't happy.

TLO 03-22-2014 07:19 AM

I can see him being used on special teams, maybe included in some cb blitzes too.

Good signing.

That gives us 5 CBs. This does reduce the chances we go CB in this Draft.

BlackHelicopters 03-22-2014 07:34 AM

5 9 is tiny.

At the 2009 NFL combine Chris Owens had these measurements - height 5096, weight 181, 14 reps on bench press, 4.44 40 yard dash, VJ 34 1/2", BJ 9'2"

Usually the NFL adds an inch to height when they list the player on a roster.

analysis on him when being considered for NFL draft in 2009 - cbssports.com

Quote:

Positives: Plays bigger than his size. … Good straight-line speed. … Shows a late burst to recover if beaten initially. … Flashes a good initial pop on the receiver. … Aggressive in run support. … Willing to fight through trash to make the stop at or near the line of scrimmage. … Quick, active hands to break up passes. … Good leaping ability and times his leaps well. … Natural hands for the interception and can track over his shoulder. … Mentally tough. … Durable. … Started 38 games.

Negatives: Doesn't back down from the physical challenge of bigger receivers, but simply is too short to handle their height in jump-ball situations. … Adequate hip flexibility. … Loses a step in his transition and isn't explosive out of his breaks. … Allows separation and isn't big or strong enough to get back around the receiver to knock away accurate passes.

He had one of the worst games I've ever seen. When Green Bay won the Super Bowl they faced Atlanta in the divisional round and Owens started because of injuries. It was the worst I have ever seen a quarterback pick on a corner. Rodgers absolutely torched him. I can't believe he is still in the league.

He's the missing piece!

In other words, he's the one who will pick up the balls Bowe drops in training camp.

I need to find my Mighty Mouse jersey-dang where did I put it....

I stored it away after that last Chiefs playoff win..

In Owens defense, he was playing against Aaron Rogers, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, and Jordy Nelson in a Super Bowl winning drive. Green Bay really went after him though but he ended up with 6 tackles and 2 PDs in the game.

Hopefully with Flowers, Smith, Cooper, and Parker, and maybe a draft pick, Owens is at best a special teamer and depth at CB.

He's depth until he needs to start due to injury.

And 5'9 is pretty goddamn short
