Ripped a skin tag off once. Did 30 days in county. Never again.

This is what I'd recommend, although I wouldn't recommend doing it for one that's on your eyelid. Clean and disinfect it after you're done.

I had one on my armpit and my wife removed it with a scalpel after I numbed it with ice. Didn't hurt at all and didn't come back.

i've had one of those on my eye lid. I was able to tweezers it off. I don't suspect you use the kind of quality with regard to tweezers. So yes - your buck knife will work fine.
