While this deal sucks for the Jets on the surface, you have to consider that if they had just sat on their hands, they would have been leaped probably by Buffalo or Miami.
At least now they ensure that they will get someone, and that franchise and fan base is almost as hungry for a young star QB as we were last year. It’s a huge risk, still. They must have at least three guys that they like a lot at QB. |
It’s gonna suck if Barkley goes to Denver.

QB is going to be chosen in that Giants slot, and maybe the Browns slot at 4 too. Denver is going to have to trade up to get a QB period. (Unless they take the dude from Louisville)

On one hand, you would have to assume Barkley has a much better chance of being there at 4 now. On the other, they likely won’t get the haul that they could’ve if someone wanted to move up for a QB. |
This is the new NFL, has been for the last 3 years really. You either trade up or get butt****ed by someone else who will.
Fun times. |
Think the cost for #2 just went up a lot and it would take an RG3 kind of deal to get there.

Buffalo is probably in panic mode at this point. Traded up to 12 in anticipation of going even further for a QB.
I’d say they leap to 2. They have to. They’ve done too much work to make this happen. |

Bills have 2 first and 3 2nd this year they can make it work without giving up a first next year.

I’d say they have to give up both 1sts and two 2nds. |
