I used to drink all the time when I was younger. Well, not 4-5 days a week like a lot of truly heavy drinkers, but I was good for 2 or 3 nights of drinking a week at my peak. As it tended to work out, I was always driving. I'd usually have anywhere from 6-10 drinks and make the trip home.
Needless to say I was pretty stupid. There were so many times I'd wake up in the morning with no recollection of the drive home, walk out to my car and see it perfectly backed into the parking space. Or, the dreaded feeling of waking up not remembering shit, hoping against hope that I still had my wallet, phone, and keys. I got really tired of those feelings and, in light of several close friends and acquaintances getting busted for DUI, I figured it would only be a matter of time before I was caught. Now I won't drive after having any more than three beers.
... But I digress. Back when I did drink a lot, I always had arguments with friends about how much we could all drink. Of course I argued back but I never could understand why I even cared. Obviously it was just a macho male thing but I really don't want to have to drink a lot to get drunk. I have to imagine some of you guys that finish 12 packs on your own would spend a small fortune at a bar or club.
