I bet he is still on the board in the 5th and we don't even look in his direction.

Dorsey drafts for upside and measurables.

Look at his history here.

He doesn't draft receivers that aren't fast and have subpar measurables.

Dante84 02-26-2015 09:23 PM

Also, he doesn't draft receivers here.

Hardy crushed the 3 cone. He will be targeting receivers who can get separation, just like Hardy. Plus he has great hands.

kccrow 02-26-2015 10:30 PM

Dorsey comes from an organization that puts far more emphasis on the 3-cone when it comes to WRs than it does on the 40. I can't recall a recent GB receiver that ran any slower than 7.10 in the 3-cone. It might even be 7.05. I do recall the 40's being all over the board though, between about 4.45 and 4.60.

It seems Reid brought in more guys with speed, but still, 3-cone remains the most important thing for receivers. If you can't quickly separate, you're nothing in the NFL.

Hardy: Big hands, Long arms, Quick out of breaks, Great Hands. Good blocker.

I am really struggling to see why he wouldn't be a perfect slot receiver for the offense we currently run.

Round 1 - La'el Collins
Round 2 - Tyler Lockett
Round 3 - Justin Hardy

I would be great with that, and it fits the narrative of the rumors we are looking to completely rebuild our receiving corp.

Minnesota: Vikings GM praises Williams
Big draw: TE Maxx Williams
Don't forget: LB Damien Wilson
Notable attendees: Minnesota Vikings GM Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer; scouts from the 49ers, Ravens, Bills, Bengals, Browns, Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Falcons, Jaguars, Lions, Packers, Panthers, Patriots, Rams, Raiders, Seahawks, Steelers, and Titans; Atlanta Falcons DT Rashede Hageman also stopped by his alma mater.
The skinny: The latest in a long line of top-tier Gophers running backs, David Cobb, was not the star of the show Monday; he elected not to work out at the event while dealing with a lingering quad injury. As a result, Williams was the one most scouts had their eyes on. He elected to stand on his combine numbers and focus on drills, where he impressed those on hand, particularly Spielman. Wilson did the same, and that offered a chance for safety Cedric Thompson to turn heads by running an unofficial 40-yard dash in the 4.4 range with a 40.5 inch vertical jump.

This would be the 2nd time they have had a look at Max Williams, not sure about LB Damien Wilson, but we need help there and then the Safety Cedric Thompson also need depth there. RB Cobb ?

Big draw: OG Terrence Jones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpXVz3rD4pU

Jones, who became a social media star last year when Troy officials posted a video of him squat-lifting 810 pounds with ease, was a bit disappointed with his bench press numbers. He lifted 225 pounds 25 times but was only credited with 22 due to improper form on three attempts.
“ I should (show them the video). Maybe that will make up for my bench numbers,” he said with a laugh.

WR /KR Chandler Worthy Troy

With drizzle falling on a slightly wet field at Veterans Memorial Stadium, Worthy ran unofficial times of 4.34 on two 40-yard dashes. One timer clocked Worthy running a 4.27 on the second 40, but Troy listed him as running 4.34 for each dash.

"I felt like I could have ran a lot faster," Worthy said. "I'll take a 4.3. That's not bad, either. A little short of 4.2 that I wanted, but I'm satisfied with what I got."

At last month's NFL combine, only JJ Nelson of UAB (4.28) and Phillip Dorsett of Miami (4.33) ran faster times at the receiver position than Worthy did Monday. Worthy said the NFL scouts told the players the weather could be taken in account as he admitted to slipping a couple of times on the turf.

Worthy thinks the scouts will shave 0.2 seconds "off a good amount of stuff."

The players started the pro day inside Troy's weight room and Worthy created an early buzz by posting a 39-1/2-inch vertical jump. He leaped 11 feet and a half inch on his board jump and had 17 bench reps of 225 pounds.

"I was blessed with big calves to be able to jump," said Worthy with a smile.

With scouts from the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans , New York Giants, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars present, Worthy seemed to improve his NFL future with Monday's effort.

You can rest assured that the Chiefs will draft a WR with 10 inch plus hands who remains to be determined, Hardy fits the Chiefs like a glove fully expect Hardy to be in Arrowhead next year.

Here is another WR they to a look at from Gardner Webb WR Kenny Cook.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3ig-0a4_Xc

Gardner Webb
The Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns were on hand for pro day at Gardner Webb, which was run outside in the cold and damp weather.

Despite slippery conditions, receiver Kenny Cook timed 4.54 on his second 40 after slipping during his first attempt. Cook, who caught 64 receptions for 758 yards and five touchdowns last season, measured 6-0 3/8, 208 pounds, had a vertical leap of 32 inches and posted a broad jump of 10 feet. His arm measured 34.5 inches, while his hand was 10 3/8 inches, impressive for a receiver.
