Benson got screwed..love Cowboy but he lost that one

alnorth 01-18-2015 10:42 PM

I am so very happy right now. Cowboy is my favorite fighter.

lol...I agree.

alnorth 01-18-2015 10:45 PM

I had it round 1 probably henderson but close, round 2 clearly cowboy, round 3 tossup.

So, it could have gone either way.

BigCatDaddy 01-18-2015 10:47 PM

Only saw all of round one and parts of the other two. Did Benson win the last 2 convincingly? Obviously 1 was Cerrones.

TribalElder 01-18-2015 10:47 PM

they are trolling me to death with this irish guy fight

bring it on already LMAO

I've been reading reactions from a variety of message boards. The controversy seems to be coming from Henderson generally landing lots of strikes, many more than Cowboy, but a lot of them were afterthought kicks that didn't matter. If you only looked at significant strikes and grappling, well it was still very close, but Cerrone was slightly better.

All I saw was Cerrone being the aggressor and landing better strikes in 1 and a few weak take downs in the other rounds. Missed probably 2/3 of rounds 2. & 3 so I was a bit surprised people thought Benson won.

alnorth 01-18-2015 10:54 PM

If Siver wins, they should put Dana White on suicide watch

like I said, 1 and 3 were close, but Cerrone clearly won #2. If you give round 1 to cowboy, then thats it for Bendo

Sorter 01-18-2015 10:55 PM

Ben Kingsley by TKO.

alnorth 01-18-2015 10:56 PM

If McGregor loses, it will be the biggest epic fail in UFC history.

I like Conner but this hype is ridiculous. If he loses to Siver, I'll enjoy it.

Perineum Ripper 01-18-2015 11:00 PM

Watch Siver go in there and knock him out in the first and Dana will be in the locker room suck starting the barrel of a shotgun

TimBone 01-18-2015 11:01 PM

McGregor has gotten big since I've been out of MMA. This will actually be the first McGregor fight I watch. Looking forward to it. Hope he lives up to the hype.

I can't imagine it'd be worse than when Chuckie lost to Jardine.

That was hilarious.

Yeah that was..The fat man was my favorite fighter but I knew after he got knocked out by Rampage he was done..then he went out and embarrassed himself over and over again..I just had to laugh

TribalElder 01-18-2015 11:08 PM

Irish guy is ****ing awesome

Sorter 01-18-2015 11:08 PM

Siver slowed down big time the last 1:30

Wow. McGreggor making burger out of Sivers face.

Also when Cro Cop got the LHK from Gonzaga.

TimBone 01-18-2015 11:09 PM

Connor looks impressive.

Sorter 01-18-2015 11:13 PM

Really think Ze tries to wrestle-**** Connor after R1.

TimBone 01-18-2015 11:14 PM

Impressive performance against a quality guy in Siver, though.

ArrowheadHawk 01-18-2015 11:14 PM

Damn, that kid is good.

alnorth 01-18-2015 11:14 PM

McGregor looked ****ing incredible.

All joking aside, that Conor vs Aldo fight now really does legitimately need to happen.

Siver is a good fighter, and Conor made him look like a worthless fool. He's a damned Irish freak.

TribalElder 01-18-2015 11:14 PM

Jerm 01-18-2015 11:37 PM

Aldo is going to murder McGregor...when motivated dude is incredible and he will be above motivated for this.

alnorth 01-18-2015 11:40 PM

Press conference will start soon-ish, I assume it'll be awesome.

edit: its starting very soon, if you are still awake go to ufc.com and follow the links, the cameras just went live in the press room.

edit2: well, I guess it wasn't starting very soon, but I assume itll start very soon from NOW

Really good free card on FOX today. Last 3 fights are all interesting.

The winner of Gustafsson vs Johnson gets the next title shot against Jon Jones

That's a better fight than what headlines most PPV's. I have no idea who'd I take in that one.

Easy 6 01-24-2015 12:56 PM

Looking forward to the freebie tonight, it will the first card I've watched in a long time... Gustaffson vs Johnson should be a damn good matchup.

Me either, they are well-matched. I also don't have a preference, Gustafsson gave Jones his toughest fight, but Johnson would also be an interesting matchup, so I'm just neutrally rooting for entertainment.

I like both fighters..both will be good match ups in the title fight..I am going to just cheer for a good fight..it should be a good fight between them

KC native 01-24-2015 08:50 PM

Still don't think he beats Bones. Bones won't let him get close enough to throw those bombs.

Yes, it will be good one.

KC native 01-24-2015 08:55 PM

But I bet Jones tries to keep him on his back with a GSP-style fight.

BigCatDaddy 01-24-2015 08:55 PM

Be interesting to see Rumble in those Championship rounds though. Dude carries A LOT of muscle and might gas in deep waters if it gets that far.

Yes, it's the only way to neutralize those battering rams that Rumble calls fists.

Jones vs Johnson will be a great fight hope they can put a great card together.

That and use those kicks. Leg kick the shit out of the front leg.

ArrowheadHawk 01-24-2015 09:08 PM

Nice free card.

Bufkin 01-24-2015 09:16 PM

I absolutely called it, 1st round TKO. Johnson's fists are professional boxing material. Add that with his near flawless takedown defense, deadly kicks to compliment his swings, and his NJCAA National Champion background, and you have a guy who will end the fight against Jonny Bones Nose within the first 2 rounds.

Bufkin 01-24-2015 09:19 PM

The problem being, Johnson seldom fights on his back. He's freakishly strong, and has an 85 percent takedown defense. If that's not the best in the business, it's damned near close. Jones relies on his reach, which I think Johnson can absolutely neutralize. His charge is deadly, especially in the early rounds.

I think Jones definitely has the endurance though. A huge red flag on Rumble going into the Gustaffson fight was that he would peak within the first round or two. Luckily, when you have the KO power he has, that's all you need.

BigCatDaddy 01-24-2015 09:29 PM

Too bad he wasted all those years looking mediocre trying to make that crazy cut to 170 when he would have been kicking ass at 205.

TimBone 01-24-2015 09:53 PM

Im all for seeing Jones go down. I just dont believe Rumble will do it. I forgot about this card too. :-(

Anybody at least have a gif of the KO?

Otter 01-24-2015 10:34 PM

Wasn't expecting Brawler to win that one quiet so easy. He was effortlessly launching those head kicks on 6' 5" Alexander Gustafsson which is pretty impressive in itself.

Son got game

BigCatDaddy 01-25-2015 08:46 AM

BTW pretty shitty that when the UFC goes to Brazil the Brazil guys all get tomato cans but when they go to Sweden their fighters get the shit kicked.out of them LMAO

alnorth 01-26-2015 07:02 PM

UFC 183 is pretty awful.

I would really like to see Silva and Diaz. Its good enough that I might go BWW for it. The co-main is kinda interesting too, but man I'm not paying for one good fight thats neither a title fight nor a super fight. I'm probably gonna skip this, but I'm definitely in for UFC 184 barring more 2014-style disasters.

You're kidding right? 183 is card of the year material, and we're not even in February.

183 basically has a #1 contender fight for Diaz at 170 and Silva for 185 belt. It also has a title shot possible for Gastelum if he wins impressively. Plus, that Joe Lauzon matchup has fight of the night written all over it.

Title eliminators should be free if they are headlining it. I'm usually not buying a PPV if a title or an interim title is not on the line.

edit: Last time a UFC PPV did not feature a title or interim title fight was UFC 161, 6/15/13, so its been over 1.5 years
