Hoch? Did we pick up his option? Did he even survive his AIDS surgery?

Hoch is a FA. Straham should be 8th inning guy or even closer.

I remember being at the K for Dyson's first MLB HR in 2010. I just pulled up that lineup:

Jarrod Dyson CF
Mike Aviles 2B
Billy Butler DH
Kila Ka'achewy 1B
Josh Fields 3B
Alex Gordon LF
Yuniesky Foodcourt SS
Lucas May C
Jai Miller RF
Kyle Davies P

*Drew Butera was the opposing C for Minnesota

Yeah, I guess I'm ok with Jorge Soler.

When I first read that, I read "Alex Gordon" and I still thought that seemed reasonable.

This tweet fits a lot of people in KC.

No it doesn't. I'm fine trading Davis for prospects, but not for ****ign Jorge Soler. A middling DH who can't play OF, especially at the K. He's a downgrade to Jarrod Dyson. This HAS to mean we are dealing Dyson or solely using Soler at DH.

Dunit35 12-07-2016 12:58 PM

I'm pissed because they got a shitty return. What's the point in trading Davis if it wasn't for prospects?

Especially, if they were going to go all out for their final window year.

That's sorta the thing here - DM chose to get an MLB-ready player in the lineup this year. He didn't sell Davis for prospects.

Best closer in all of baseball the past 3-4 seasons nets us Soler. ROFL

I see a lot of folks who missed the past several pages have found their way to the thread again...

He was off last year, kinda like Holland in 2014, and we get 1 year of Wade for 4 years of Soler.

suzzer99 12-07-2016 01:09 PM

So our season next year pretty much rests on Kelvin getting comfortable with his slider again.

I guess they felt they needed a .258 career hitter that only hit 12 HR's and .238 last year.

Since the WS win- lots of very bad moves have been made. Looks like another down year for the Royals.

It's also possible that the Royals staff sees something they can fix and may win this trade by a wide margin.
