That's pretty much what I meant. The O's have been bad for eons. No one ever expects anyone but the Yankees, Red Sox or Rays to come out of the AL West. It's nice to see new blood in that regard.

Do we root for the A's now?

They win tonight, it applies the coup de grace to the Rays (maybe that'll settle their ass down) and Angels, but ties us for WC #1.

I have no confidence at all that the Bosox will put up any kind of fight in NY, so the division is as good as gone.

I hear you. In regards to the regular season baseball can improve. As far as the playoffs go, a lot of crazy stuff usually happens. In fact, I think the NFL playoffs are a lot more predictable than the MLB.
