This was my argument - Arenas was actually a detriment to this team. Just like Kendrick Lewis is now.

Any player who has peaked and is a weak link is worth less than nothing. Trading Arenas, who was never going to be good, in favor of a player who even MIGHT be good, was an improvement.

Without this trade, marcus Cooper probably never sees the field. That's why you get rid of guys who you know don't make you better. You have to continually upgrade the roster. If Cooper had sucked, we would have cut him and done it all over.

Constantly, constantly looking for better players.

I was always a Lewis backer but I'm pretty convinced at this point he's hit his ceiling. He's got pro bowl talent but he'll never be a pro bowl player...

might have been a different story if we had to start Dunta Robinson while Flowers was hurt

3rd CB? He's already a better starting CB than Arenas could ever dream of becoming.

Cooper's going to push Flowers and Smith for years to come and will probably take over the starting job by 2015.

Indeed. This place has a weird obsession with CB's though. Arenas sucked and 330 certainly hasn't improved the Dallas defense.

For good reason. You can never have too many corner backs. Fullbacks are a luxury. In either event, we ended up in a good spot.

Even if they suck? Arenas was hot garbage. Thankfully we didn't pay Carr 10 mil per.

This might serve as a testament to the superior coaching of Emmit Thomas.

Brandon Carr steadily improved with each season as a Chief, and has clearly declined since signing with the Boys.

On the other hand, the 9ers waived Cooper, who it can be argued, has been the best corner on this team.

If he was this good for the 9ers, there's no way in hell they let him get away.

If 2013 has proven anything, it's that good coaching does matter.
