keeping up with all the cut lines on the neighborhood fb page is good, though. According to what people post, they are decent about fixing the broken stuff pretty quickly (lots of broken sprinkler lines)

Well, I'm back on Time Warner for awhile I guess.

Apparently two weeks notice isn't enough time for Google Fiber to get you an install at a new house in the exact same neighborhood you've had their service for over a year.

No idea how long I'll be waiting. :cuss:

Well I'm holding out for them to at least tell me they're not going to fix my driveway! If getting them to address the complaint is any sign of their customer service, I may stick with Time Warner... And I guess the pics of the boring machine sitting in the driveway doesn't help their case, so who knows what they're thinking...

No, you have to be connected to your wifi

I switched from Time Warner to Google Fiber a couple of months ago. Thinking about switching my TV service back to Time Warner (I only signed a commitment for Internet service with Google Fiber).

I set up my rec room in my basement like a sports bar with multiple TVs. Add to that the TV in my office, TVs on the main floor and TVs in bedrooms, and I have a total of 10 TVs in my house. Google Fiber only allows 6 TVs. There are ways to try to work around it, but it's more of a hassle than just turning the TV on and having it work.

Google Fiber Internet access rocks. Not a fan of their TV service.

10 TV's! Why? I have one and that is too many most of the time.

So they haven't had any sign ups for my neighborhood, but they're laying fiber in my neighborhood (holes in my yard today). I assume they don't need to get the sign ups if they're already laying the infrastructure. How long between the time they bury the fiber to actually getting the service?

I'd say it took them around three months from them laying the fiber to getting me hooked up.

I know they're finally on tap to have a contractor replace the street-touching three segments of my driveway!

And no, the actual Google fiber isn't in yet, but that's OK, after dealing with them for many months and getting the supposedly surprised runaround about nobody having contacted us, I was ready to not do it! And to do one hell of a lot of digging in my yard and giving them the same run-around right back.

Titty Meat 08-26-2015 09:57 PM

Finally got it and it rocks!

We're at this point, fiber in the ground, yard painted.

Oh, and at the point where Time Warner is dropping their pants to keep people. I appreciate the 60+Mbps of download, but it's too little too late.

Have they contacted you yet for better service/pricing? I'm in the same place, as my pictures would be the same. I also have TWC, and I'm waiting for them to make the save call. I can't wait to tell them to GTFO. Only reservation is that Google doesn't have AMC.

The called us about 2 weeks ago offering free premium speed service.

300 mbps dowload

I'm only running about 100-200 down/20 mbps up though

I'm in LA so for the moment I only can dream of it (parents have it and it seems to deliver the goods as far as Internet -- not sure about their TV service). But what is it with Time Warner (who I unfortunately do have here in LA) saying they have 300MB anything? I never get a speed faster than 40-50MBs. I got an email about a new 300 service from them and called last weekend but was told I already had it. I don't get 300MBs I told the woman on the phone. She informed me that they just call it 300 but that it isn't really 300MBs.

Does anyone know when Google Fiber will be other places like LA?
