Any of you have a favorite trap gun?
|
Bought my first serious piece a month or so ago, the very well regarded Mossberg 500 in black, 18.5 barrel... wanted to hold out for a dreaded "assault rifle" but wanted something serious, pronto.
It will defend and it can hunt, I'm very happy with it. |
Anyone know what a fm high power should go for? (Browning clone/someday browning under Argentina license )

you want something cheaper that you can also hunt with, the Rem 870 30 plus inch barrel is hard to beat. I shoot trap & skeet a lot in the spring & fall when its nice out. I use a hundred year old Rem model 11 or 1980s Moss-500 in 410. |
I keep backing out of the mini 30. It keeps going out of stock and back in stock over the last feed days. I don't like the thought of shooting cheap steel out of it. I took a look at the mini 14 synthetic stock in store today. Those things are so cool looking.

Probably about $250.00. A genuine Hi-Power is a sweet gun. I had one back in the 80's and regret to this day ever selling it. |

Ya know the only thing that worries me about the Mini -30 is ammo & the Clinton doctrine of the 90s.being reintroduced.
7.62X39mm is cheap ammo as long as it is being imported. As far as steel VS brass, Mini will eat anything. Ive fired everything from the cheapest Herter's international select, to my own hand loads, Ive never had a jam. had a few failure to fire, but that was the shitty ammo, not the Mini |
You have nothing to worry about as far as another gun ban. They will try, but I don't see them doing anything about ammo unless it's a local law.
|
It'll probably be the mini 14 since I have around 1k rounds of 223 and zero 7.62
