I'll wait until it's verified by either club. If it was a swap of seconds and a conditional 2014 pick, that's very different than two second round picks.

That's all we have to hope for.

Is it possible they only swapped second rounders and added a conditional pick next year and still intend on having Geno be a real possibility for our pick?

Hanging on to the last shred of hope.

ROFL

I can't believe you of all people is going to rationalize this.

The 49ers 2nd round pick is TWO PICKS ahead of our THIRD ROUNDER.

To act like a swap of 2nd rounders makes this trade acceptable is absolutely laughable.

Is nobody actually thinking about this?

The 49ers were in the Super Bowl. Their 2nd round pick is TWENTY NINE PICKS after ours.

We're trading our 2nd and a conditional next year for Alex Smith and THIRD ROUND PICK.

We got ****ing RAPED.

RyFo18 02-27-2013 02:12 PM

It's not like the Chiefs have done shit w/ their 2nd round picks anway in recent years. -_-

saphojunkie 02-27-2013 02:12 PM

This is a garbage franchise.

Trade down to 20 and get whatever you can.

Some REAL team will want to move up for Geno.

I PRAY that team is Pittsburgh.

Herm just said on espn that we are having a parade because we are so excited that we have a QB. What a clueless asshole

Are you reeruned? How can you not see the difference between the 2 scenarios?

That's basically a third round pick.

Half of what's widely reported.

If we truly traded that much for Alex Smith, we better be getting another quality starter in the deal...and NOT a Mike Vrabel level guy.

Even if the Chiefs were only giving up a 3rd, it would still suck.

Frosty 02-27-2013 02:15 PM

Since I know the dream of Geno is dead, now the only thing I can hope for is that the Chiefs somehow get out of the #1 pick, even if for way less than market value, and then continue to trade down to get some more picks in the mid-rounds. If they could pick up some 3rds or something and get down around #20, the could take someone like Rhodes and still have ammo to move around later in the draft and possibly get someone like Manuel or Dysert.

Agreed. But Reid does have a reputation as getting the best effort and natural talent out of his QB's.

Oh no! What I'm reading around here is we're doomed! Release the Kraken.
