If co-mo is a triple play provider, and are offering service in the same area as GF, then yeah, they are a competitor. As GF captures more of the market, you'll see other providers start offering better bandwidth packages since DOCSIS 3.0 can handle the same bandwidth's GF is offering.

OK, still not in yet, but on the Fiber App (iPhone or Droid), is CBS not available? As in NO CHIEFS on Sundays on the phone?

Sure. Actually I never tried to watch TV on my phone. I just used the app as a remote control.

Any news on when this shit is getting to Olathe? Im tired of waiting for this shit, its been 3 years

Im trying to not have to sign a contract for my 2nd internet line..so AT&T and Surewest or whatever they call themselves now is out. I want that free shitty slow google internet with the one time construction fee. Can I just run a really long ethernet cable from Olathe to KCK?

Please never take Google Fiber for granted. Been away for 3 days and I'm ready to move back to KCMO (not really, but kind of). We closed on our new place on Thursday at 3pm and scheduled our Comcast install for Friday (yesterday) 2 weeks in advance. Get a call from Comcast Thursday at 8am wondering why no one was here for the install. We hadn't even taken possession yet. Now, due to their flubbing of the install date, they can't get anyone out until Tuesday. No cable/internet until Tuesday and I work virtually from home. Straight amateur hour.

Well it's not here yet, and I don't want to flip-flop, but the ass-clowns they contracted to bore the conduit into the ground sat their ****ing boring machine on my driveway AFTER A DAY OF HEAVY RAIN (!!!!!), and lifted the front of driveway pad to about 1.5 inches above the gutter! NOW Google is taking their sweet-ass time getting out here to "investigate" what happened. JFC, the city put in brand new gutters last year, they were perfectly aligned with all of our driveways, now, with a picture of that heavy bitch sitting in the driveway, and a weather report that proves the ground must have been soggy, these ****s need months to figure it out.

Well, I'm not on Google fiber yet, and while I was the #1 fan of it coming in, I can assure you it won't be going into this house until they figure out a plan for the driveway! And quite a few neighbors have agreed to tell them the same thing.

So I'd strongly recommend anybody getting Google fiber be very aware if they're boring conduit into the ground when you get it. Take before pics just in case...

They cut the gas in front of my house a few weeks back. I asked the last with the gas co how many lines they've had to repair, and they say it's been a nightmare.

Still excited though.

I signed up this week for C Spire Fiber To the Home which is basically the same as Google Fiber.

NO SHIT!!! Just in my neighborhood they broken 2-3 gas lines and some water lines. At least they fixed those, not that there's an option or a question, but we'll see how long it takes to fix my driveway..
