Most of mine sit around and collect dust, but I know guys who shoot enough ammo a month to make a car payment. There could easily be a spot in the market for another maker but the investment needed might be a lot more than most realize.

Investment and insurance would be massive. I can't imagine what kind of equipment you would need to pump out the ammo.

If you're near Sedalia some time you should go tour the Sierra bullet plant. Pretty sure you can still just walk in and take the tour for free.

They have an outlet there to buy bullets for loading as well.:thumb:

So, not a huge purchase of guns and ammo. Still, it's kind of strange that all these non-military/law enforcement federal agencies are stocking up on guns and ammo. Most people don't seem to understand that many federal agencies have internal law enforcement arms. The NOAA purchase they're complaining about supplies their agents with just over 700 rounds. Really? Bitching about 700 rounds per officer?

This .22 shortage is really getting old fast. I don't even want to go shoot because I have no idea when I'll be able to replace what I use. I only have 800 or so rounds and I overpaid like crazy for 300 of it.

Sooner or later you'll find a deal. I got in on a 525 box two days ago at $24.99 with free shipping. I agree though, it is a real pain in the ass trying to find .22 ammo for a decent price.
