that's why god gave baseball teams physicals

This

There is NFW that is a straight up deal

tyton75 12-07-2016 08:07 AM

Its not a bad deal at all. At worst, he's our starting DH.

Dunit35 12-07-2016 08:07 AM

I was hoping I wouldn't wake up to this.

ROFL

A DH who's only league avg as a hitter = no value as a DH.

OmahaChief 12-07-2016 08:11 AM

Don't like the deal straight up at all. Soler has not impressed me. At least we should get a minor league arm with the deal.

MTG#10 12-07-2016 08:19 AM

Wtf is this shit? Did DM have an unreported brain injury?

They got a $6.5 mil reduction in payroll.

That is worth nothing if they don't use it.

Worth nothing to you but we know it's worth something to David Glass.

dlphg9 12-07-2016 08:31 AM

I still don't understand the David Glass hate thing. He's kept the payroll right in the middle of the pack the last 4 years and this next year should make it 5.

Glass is doing the Wal-Mart thing.

Rosenthal now reporting it would be a straight up deal for Soler. Vomit.

If that's all Davis is bringing back, there must be some troubling signs in his medical file/forearm.

Soler has tremendous raw power and great upside, but there's more risk present there than you'd like, and it doesn't "solve" RF like I would have expected to agree to ship out Davis.

The Cubs are assuming risk too, as would any club trading for Davis.

Lot of Royals fans are acting like they just traded the 2014-15 Wade Davis, and not the 2016 version whose K rate decreased, whose BB and hit rates increased, who lost velocity, who had two different DL stints, not for a pulled hamstring but for forearm issues, coming off two straight years in which he was worked hard in deep postseasons.

I'm disappointed there's not more coming, but then I always want more. I'm not doing cartwheels over the deal, but I'm OK with it. I just hope Soler is more Jermaine Dye than Felix Jose.
