I remember growing up many decades ago when Nebraska was considered a football power. But again that was a long time ago. Maybe that's why they're dropping $180million on a new arena for a sport that doesn't even matter.

Funny, Nebraska has been in 17 Orange Bowls, 6 Fiesta Bowls, 4 Sugar Bowls and 1 Rose Bowl yet fans of a team that have been to 1 Orange Bowl think they can talk smack about their football program.

Why are the taxpayers of Lincoln - whom I presume to all be Nebraska fans - building a $180 million dollar arena for a sport that doesn't matter? Here's what the website says:

"The new Pinnacle Bank Arena — scheduled to open its doors in September 2013 — will be a shiny, new attraction for the country’s top men’s and women’s college recruits to choose Nebraska basketball. Top-class players want top-class facilities."

What does that mean, players? What players are they referring to? Unless you're arguing they are actually building it for PBR bull riders tour and commencement ceremonies a couple days a year. Which would be hilariously dumb.
