Heard something awesome yesterday after BB king died a reporter asked Eric Clapton what's it like to be the greatest guitarist alive today. Clapton answered, "I don't know why don't you ask Prince that."
A great iconic musician lost sad week RIP Prince |

Everyone wanted to work with the guy and he was highly respected by the top artists in pretty much any genre
Heres a song he did the keyboards for, uncredited, because he just loved music that much... along with a short story to explain it <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bwdDVZsz2es" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Little scoundrel even tried to get in her pants http://ultimateclassicrock.com/stevie-nicks-prince/ |

I don't watch New Girl but caught the beginning of the re-airing of "the Prince episode" the other night so I hit record. watched last night. I figured he'd make a cameo. it was much more than that! pretty funny actually. he has a big part.....many lines....and performed.
one thing I found funny was at one point he had a butterfly land on his shoulder by his command. later he's kicking New Girls ass in ping pong. OK...so at the END he's playing one of the other girl characters in ping pong and she bashes one on him. he gets all upset...throws the ping pong racket down and runs outta the room....and a second later this butterfly follows him out. too funny..... |
You could have at least said you recorded it for a friend.

hell no man! I love prince.
I was born a poor black child! |

New wave, punk, and funk all blended perfectly together I'm thinking Dez Dickerson had something to do with this release <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eX8Enb4dJRw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
i feel like prince isn't super respected for his rock abilities..he gets mad props for his pop hits and his ability to play guitar but not for his rock centric songs, imo. *talking about general listening populace

For me atleast, his musical appeal is in the way he blended so many different styles to create something so uniquely his own His personal appeal is that... a) he was an electric, natural performer b) he insisted on having a multi-ethnic band from his earliest days, he wasnt just for black or white people... Prince was for everyone, he covered so much ground that just about anyone can find something they like c) he played ATLEAST 20 instruments at a professional level d) Warner Brothers signed him as a solo act when he was only 18, I could hardly find my ass with both hands at 18 e) he was always a very spiritual guy, his lyrics are littered with references to God etc and I like that And your hero The Boss LOVED him, so that pretty much means you gotta love him too :D |
8+ minutes of unplugged brilliance, a true musician... just for you RainMan

A law-enforcement official tells The Associated Press that tests show the music superstar died of an opioid overdose. The 57-year-old singer was found dead April 21 at his Minneapolis-area estate. The official, who is close to the investigation, spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Investigators have been reviewing whether Prince died of an overdose and whether a doctor was prescribing him drugs in the weeks before his death. Prince was found dead in the elevator of his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minn. Deputies and medical personnel found the music icon unresponsive when they arrived at his home, and they performed CPR but it was unsuccessful. Following his death, many of those closest to the music icon denied he used drugs. However, since the singer's death, details have emerged about medical treatment he was receieving. In the weeks before Prince's death, the musician met twice with Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg, a 46-year-old family care physician who worked at a Minnetonka clinic a few miles from Prince's Paisley Park studio and home, according to search warrant documents. The warrant documents say Schulenberg prescribed Prince medications in recent weeks, but what they were and whether Prince took them is unknown. An addiction treatment doctor, Howard Kornfeld, has also stated he was in touch with Prince's representative the day before Prince died. The Associated Press contributed to this report. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...l?intcmp=hpbt1 |
Another opioid death. A shame, but sadly not a surprise.

Pot is illegal but any pos doctor can prescribe this shit that kills people...

You're not suggesting that we take opioids out of doctors' arsenals, right? You're only making the case for legal weed? |

Michael Prince All prescription meds...all in their homes close to hospitals. :hmmm: |

Of course it doesn't look like we know the whole story yet. |

Typically, if a prescriber keeps good records and can justify the prescriptions, no harm no foul rule applies. Like in any profession, some unscrupulous types exist.

So really, the story hasn't changed at all. He died (likely) of an opioid OD. Meds were prescribed for a medical condition he was being treated for. He dosed himself.
It was an accidental OD by a man who may or may not have been addicted to opioids. We'll see where the investigation goes I guess. |

its about the doctors that are feeding this shit to people. and the people who get the scripts and then sell them to others. |

Are opioids overprescribed? Yes. Does it lead to addiction? Absolutely. Are many people unable to function do to chronic pain without pain meds? Unfortunately, yes. The only thing that one can really do is to enact prescription drug monitoring (Missouri is the only state w/o it, by the way) and remove the stigma of addiction so that those who need help can receive it. If someone is on Fentanyl they should also have Naloxone on hand in the case of an overdose. |

Most prescribers are responsible. Just like most auto shop owners are responsible. A few bad apples exist. Every prescriber can be bought. It's about negotiating price. Everyone has a price. Physicians, dentists, veterinarians and auto shop owners have a price.
|
What a patient does with his prescription when he leaves the office is not under prescriber control. Keep good records with a diagnosis. 99.99% of prescribers are honest. But in Missouri, there is no state system( the only state in the US) to track individual prescribers giving prescriptions to individuals. Usually the pharmacy will call me when they suspect a problem. ER's call me too.

Sauto. What is the price of a hydrocodone 10 on the street? $ 50 a tablet.

I don't take any pills. Like ever. Probably taken one pain pill in my life, didn't do shit for me except upset my stomach. I haven't taken antibiotics in over 20 years. So v long ago I can't even remember but I've lived here for 17 and know for sure not since then... But I know a guy who put his kid through college by selling his prescription pills. |
Quote:
Not really the having a price part, but that most are responsible |
And I will say that we get pos families coming in all the time and I've had them tell me they moved here due to the lax prescription, welfare regulations.

I'm sure it's better nationwide. I never knew we were the only dumbass state that doesn't track that shit. I fired pill dealer guy as a customer after he told me his whole gig. I realized I was helping fund his life. The state paid for all his pills. That he sold for thousands a month. |
