It is pretty amazing, so you can't complain about seeing that kind of dominance. In another way though, I almost wish he wasn't doing so well. If he was back closer to the pack at -8 or -9, it would be setting up an insane weekend with a ton of huge names in play. You'd have Phil, Tiger, Rory, Els, Sergio, Scott, Day, Rose, Dustin Johnson, Cabrera, Oosthuizan, Schwartzel and even Mark O'Meara all chasing the young gun. A ton of major champions and guys who are regularly in contention.
It would've been one of the most amazing weekends in a long time. As it stands now even Phil and Els might be too far away unless he collapses, and they're 6th and 7th. |
They can dry that course up and he won't score as well or fall back..... But that means its hard for everyone else to catch him too...
|
Scoring is really good so far. If Spieth plays B-level golf he's going to get to -20.
Of course, if his putter deserts him or if he struggles with his irons a lot of guys could close the gap. |

In full speed Spieth always looks like he comes out of the shot.

I can hit that drive like tiger just did lol

Thought I heard "Oh my ****ing God" in a most hilarious fashion. And he has a decent shot at birdie now? I thought this was Augusta... |
He did birdie after that abortion

Spieth dropping a shot and back to 14-under. If a 66 is B-level golf, he is at D-level.

Ricochet to tigers face will replay forever

A tiger tantrum

Spieth feeling Mick's tits on his back.

That is a two shot break.

Sometimes golf telecasts are really annoying with their narrativizing. There was nothing resilient about that front nine, Nantz; it was some pretty mediocre golf buoyed by the break of the day.
|
Does Spieth talk to every ball for the entirety of the shot? **** this guy.
|
Sometimes I feel like the only difference between pros and amateurs is that every shot they hit into the woods bounces out and ours go farther in.
Air has really been let out of this tournament. Spieth hit two poor approaches on 9 and 10 and played the holes -1. Sometimes it's just your week. |
ROFL ROFL..**** you Johnson, you piece of shit.
|
Dustin Johnson with a Dustin Johnson
|
Hoffman!!!!

The transformation Tiger has made in such a short time is pretty incredible. First time he's had back to back rounds in the 60s in a major in nearly 3 years.

This is a course for a specific type of horse. Nicklaus always scored low here, even finishing T-6 as a 58 year old, and Couples' play in recent years is another good example. |

Tiger won five times in 2013 and was the POTY. He was injured last year. Amazingly, he shows up to a course where his career finishes as a pro are: 1, 8, 18, 5, 1, 1, 15, 22, 1, 3, 2, 2, 6, 4, 4, 40, 4 and plays well. And even if it is "out of nowhere", this happens all the time in majors, and it especially happens at Augusta. |

Phil with the bender on 16. To within 4.

Phil drops a bomb on 16. He needed that. Great putt, great fortune.
|
Holy tits. First time in awhile I've rooted for Phil

The amazing thing about how Spieth is playing is that he's not overpowering the golf course. He's just executing absolutely perfectly with a few fortuitous bounces tossed in.

All I made was a fairly innocuous comment giving some credit to Tiger Woods for getting back to this level so quickly and you decided to be the absolute argumentative **** you are over it. |
Justin Rose from the bunker on 16. Making a run.

It needs someone polarizing. |
Sunday is going to be a coronation. I don't think I've ever seen someone putt like this at Augusta, even if the teeth have been taken out of the greens.

Someone should ask spieth
Do you think you can continue to play solid while you dip your back shoulder and roll your wrist at the top of your tee shots **** with his head a bit to make this tournament interesting |

Justin Rose's best finish this year is 37th and he's nearly a half dozen shots ahead of Tiger. This is golf. This is what happens from week to week. |

Phil got way too aggressive with his putts on 17 and 18 and it cost him dearly.

Spieth with a double. Back to -16. Cracks the door open a bit.
|
The door is ajar
The door is ajar The door is ajar |
Ball don't lie
Damn you Phil for missing that last putt! |
And Spieth doubles out of nowhere. This isn't over by a long shot. Going to be really interesting to see how he deals with the pressure tomorrow.
|
Spieth,
Ain't nobody gonna bitch if you decide to get the shanks. |
Rose played an amazing back 9. Probably only going to be a 4 shot lead.
|
****ing Rose. Goddamn, goofy piece of **** shit.
|
Rose knocks Phil out of the final group tomorrow.
|
The 2nd to last group will be Phil and Hoffman, and the 3rd to last group will be Tiger and Rory.
|
Remember what I said about Spieth looking like he comes out of everything? That was a carbon copy of Norman's approach into 18 in 1986. Mother****ing carbon copy.
|
I was fully expecting that to hit someone and bounce in the hole
|
Spieth falling apart down the stretch. Could be a sign of things to come tomorrow?

If this were anyone else on a normal day, I would say he has a two percent chance of getting up and down and a 10% chance of double if he gets ballsy, but this kid is running so hot I wouldn't be surprised if he went full Larry Mize. |
Justin Rose annoys me
No reason for it Most of the golfers from over the pond annoy me though lol |
Great save. 4 shot lead it is.
