That's pretty strange.

My mom is from Ohio and I spent some time living there with her from the age of about 5-11. Everyone there calls soda "pop". I grew up calling it that and changed almost immediately when I moved to Virginia with my dad. It just seemed so ridiculous when no one else was saying it around me.

I've met hundreds of Planetters in person. I've not found a single one to be an asshole. Every one seemed to be a good guy or gal. Through the packages for the troops, tailgates, Nzoner party's etc. I've got to know them in real life. I've never seen any acrimony between posters when they met on person even if they have differences on the board. This board is much better in person.;)

There are a bunch of people here I like and enjoy reading their takes on many different things... but, atleast as far as intraweb persona's, the list of nice people is a very short one, IMO.

I contemplated creating a thread for people to list the people they thought were assholes. Out of respect for SR, and his wishes to keep things friendly, I decided against it. Lord knows that thread would hit a hundred pages in a matter of a couple of weeks.

There have been several "call out the asshole" threads over the years, but yeah, as you your gut is telling you they aren't usually much fun to read... just a lot of straight up mean spirited attacks that create bad vibes all around.

Why thank ye, I honestly do believe I'm a lot nicer here than I used to be, age has mellowed me considerably... I used to get in all kinds of flame wars but now I see them as a completely stupid waste of my time that makes me look worse than they guy I'm trying to slam.
