if you are up by more than four stealing is a no-no. It is less of an unwritten rule with the DH and especially against the Angels. They have the punch no lead is safe.

He has tremendous bat speed. Just a lightning bat, man.

In this case, I don't think the unwritten rule was in play. We were up 6, but it was the 3rd inning, theoretically plenty of time to make things interesting.

Now we should probably not run anymore, 8 runs in the 4th is pretty safe.

Wade Davis can't blow an 8 run lead right?

Early in the game as well. 7-8th inning I could see that. Not in the third.

alnorth 05-15-2013 09:17 PM

OK, time for bed. Tomorrow morning, I'm expecting to see that Davis went 6+ with no more than 1 walk. 1 or 2 solo homers would be fine, but he should throw strikes.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:17 PM

Yep, in the 3rd, take what you can

SPchief 05-15-2013 09:18 PM

And we shouldn't be running from here on out

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:18 PM

I'm gonna stay up a little longer tonight. Rarely do you see the Royals beat the piss outta somebody.

Mr. Laz 05-15-2013 09:18 PM

Esky is dam militant about fielding

'this ball is mine bitch ... back the **** off'

LMAO

RedDread 05-15-2013 09:18 PM

I'm here.

Please don't hit a homerun Trout.

Toadkiller 05-15-2013 09:19 PM

I like how the last 2 games Escobar is really calling for the ball. This is going to cut down on all those communication errors.

SPchief 05-15-2013 09:19 PM

Moose just missed that

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:20 PM

Man, that kid can hit....

Demonpenz 05-15-2013 09:20 PM

Double!

GTFO, Red!!!!!

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:21 PM

Just pitch around Albert with a base open.

SPchief 05-15-2013 09:21 PM

Damn Alex, you could have had him

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:22 PM

Keep Albert on first by not throwing home. He's going to be extra slow on the bases.

petegz28 05-15-2013 09:22 PM

Alex had him nailed at the plate easy if he wanted

Like clockwork.

Mr. Laz 05-15-2013 09:23 PM

Never underestimate the ability of Wade Davis to collapse.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:26 PM

"Hey Mike, can we have back the $11 million you stole from us your last year in KC?"

Stanley Nickels 05-15-2013 09:26 PM

Sweeney's gonna injure himself doing this broadcast, and will have to sit out the second two outs of the inning.

Demonpenz 05-15-2013 09:26 PM

Sweendog. Get back on the team...power Right hand hitter off the bench.

RedDread 05-15-2013 09:26 PM

So many SoCal connections for this team. It's a homecoming for half the team it seems like.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:27 PM

I equate Sweeney with ten years of putrid baseball. Sorry. Royals paid him instead of Damon and Beltran, and as soon as he got paid he tanked.

RedDread 05-15-2013 09:28 PM

Sweendog has a future in broadcasting if he wants it.

duncan_idaho 05-15-2013 09:28 PM

Fun question: How many MLB runners can score from second against Alex Gordon on that hit by Pujols?

I'm going to say Trout is one of what, maybe 5-8 guys?

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:28 PM

Billy burning down the line!

lewdog 05-15-2013 09:29 PM

The best thing about Billy's DP balls.?He barely reaches halfway down the 1b line before the ball is already there. ROFL

Demonpenz 05-15-2013 09:29 PM

I love how the old K no one could sit in left Center.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:29 PM

Sweeney hated his career so much he can't even speak about it.

Stanley Nickels 05-15-2013 09:30 PM

Is Sweeney a politician or does he run a PR firm? It's certainly one of the two.

Demonpenz 05-15-2013 09:30 PM

Hall of Fame Sweeney.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:30 PM

Hey Sweeney, how many playoff games did you get KC into????

Stanley Nickels 05-15-2013 09:31 PM

Sweeney is Rex Hudler, Motivational Speaker

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:31 PM

He owes the Royals millions of dollars that he stole at the end of his career.

stonedstooge 05-15-2013 09:31 PM

McWeeny likes to talk about himself

duncan_idaho 05-15-2013 09:31 PM

BTW, Michael Roth is a great snapshot of what John Lamb will look like if he never gets his fastball velocity back.

He was probably distracted by a Mike Sweeney sighting. Threw him off....he'll probably boot one at first as a tribute next inning.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:33 PM

Sweeney's father in law is a Yankee. Bad, bad karma.

Sweeney has no idea what its like to win. He knows what its like to lose 100 games. He's done that. A lot. A really lot.

I NEVER got a chance to watch the Royals much going up in Montana. And by not much I mean never. We didn't have cable. I had no idea he was this big of a douche. Wow.

Stanley Nickels 05-15-2013 09:38 PM

Sweeney launches into a five-minute diatribe about how great he was. Hudler responds with "that's called energy!" Quality.

Rasputin 05-15-2013 09:38 PM

Lets get some outs now shall we.

Damn does Sweeny shut up?

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:39 PM

When healthy, and not talking, he was fine.

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:40 PM

You notice as soon as they start talking to Sweeney, they start giving up runs.
Coincidence????
I think not.

Stanley Nickels 05-15-2013 09:40 PM

RED DREAD, LEAVE THIS PLACE NOW.

SPchief 05-15-2013 09:40 PM

Sweeny stays on the air, we begin to suck. Coincidence?

siberian khatru 05-15-2013 09:40 PM

So, Davis is gonna blow this?

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:40 PM

"Oh sure, Fever, my back is fine now. Now that I have $20 million KC bucks for playing baseball, which I couldn't, because I was on the DL most of the time.... but now my back is fine and I'm rich. Really rich."

Bastard probably quadrupled it in the stock market too

petegz28 05-15-2013 09:41 PM

Davis is going to **** up and let them right back in the ****ing game

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:42 PM

Earth to Fever and Hud....We're having a shit inning.... a SHIT INNING....HELLO?????

lewdog 05-15-2013 09:42 PM

Yes, "go all in" Mike. What most of use workers do to earn a paycheck with 9-5 jobs.

petegz28 05-15-2013 09:42 PM

get him out of the game before we watch our 8 run lead evaporate as quickly as we got it

Rasputin 05-15-2013 09:42 PM

Lets get out of this inning. Bases loaded not good.

siberian khatru 05-15-2013 09:42 PM

Bases loaded, one out, top of the order

gblowfish 05-15-2013 09:43 PM

One pitch and these ****s are right back in the game.

Somebody put a fist into Sweeney's yap. Bad luck.....berry berry bad luck.

petegz28 05-15-2013 09:43 PM

It will be 8-4 at least before this inning is over

siberian khatru 05-15-2013 09:43 PM

So long as it's 8-7 through 5, Ned will keep Davis in so he can get the win.
