I started lurking long before I joined. I believe it was during my tour in Korea from 2000-2001. In that time I have appreciated what many have had to offer and others not so much. Since I go through periods where I don't check in then I sometimes lose track of who's who when posters change their name and avatar. I've only been in a couple of heated exchanges and have seen some leave the board that I wish wouldn't have. Then we have also had the untimely passing of a couple of members that leave me wishing I would have met them in person. The moral of the story is that regardless of who you are you can make an impression on others in any forum. It is up to you what you want that impression to be.

actually, i was new to the net and mb's and did all sorts of shit that should have got me banned about a hundred times but a lot of folks encouraged me and gave me the lowdown on basic net/mb behavior...
