To heck with that. If someone approached me with a shirt like that, I'd have to grab one and tell her that something was in her eye.

THIS

I get irritated when a woman is offended when I refer to her as "ma'am." I was raised that way: sir or ma'am. It has nothing to do with age. I was just being polite. In my opinion, miss just doesn't sound right.

Furthermore, I'm also irritated when a man responds when I refer to him as "sir" with, "Don't call me sir, I work for a living" or "I'm not a sir." Are you seriously offended by the word sir? Would you prefer for me to refer you as "dude" or "hey you?" JFC

Look at it this way... If we were in the 1800's and a gentleman tipped his hat and called me, "ma'am", I wouldn't take offense. That was the way of the cowboys and the ladies.

However, here we are quickly approaching 2013 and times have changed. For instance, I was at the grocery store earlier and this 20-something clerk called me ma'am. I don't know what it is, but whenever I hear it, I get very annoyed. It always seems to be the younger guys, too. The older guys call me, "young lady", "miss", "missy". I even had one call me, "darlin'" recently when I was at the convenient store.

Interesting. It may be that the younger generation is being raised to call strangers ma'am. Who knows though? Instead of discussing the merits of ma'am vs miss, we should be fighting zombies right now. Damn Mayans can't get anything right.

I agree. My Jeep was prepped for running over zombies and they never showed up. :sulk:

Why are you so damn worried about getting old? Seriously. Age is just a damn number. So you're going to get a few wrinkles and gray hair eventually. Who in the hell cares?

KurtCobain 12-28-2012 01:10 AM

Because then I'm not cool. Anytime I wanna have fun, people are like, grow up Argo. All the girls I know are constantly mentioning how I haven't grown up. So then I hang it with 18 year Olds, and I feel ****ing old and like maybe I should grow up. Its a problem.

Women like guys that goof-around and act immature from time-to-time, just not all of the time. However, when they see a mature man, they view them as being a solid mate. That's why you're getting shunned by the ladies, my friend.

You shouldn't need to change yourself for anyone though. Maturity comes naturally when you're ready and there is no set age for when this will occur. My advice is to just go with the flow, be yourself, don't go out of your way to impress anyone, and accept change in your behavior when it happens.

Personally, I don't give a shit if anybody smokes weed, and I think it should be completely legalized. I do see the hypocrisy of a society that makes pot illegal yet continually assails us with alcohol advertising. But IMO it's also something that adults should outgrow. I mean, it should be legal, but it's not. I think it's foolish and irresponsible as hell for people with real jobs and families to continue to do it.
