Baylor takes down Kentucky.

Kentucky now has 3 losses on the year already.

Ultra Peanut 12-01-2012 02:26 PM

I hope those nutjobs set Cal's house on fire.

Note that the Memphis fan base is also completely insane and two pathetic looking losses to not-quite-ranked teams in our first five games nearly led to rioting, so I have no room to talk, but still.

DaKCMan AP 12-05-2012 05:54 PM

Stop yelling like a moron and list for me the top teams this year who have been up 30pts at half against any opponent from the ACC, SEC, Big10, Big XII, Big East or Pac XII.

Well yeah I was being facetious in my first post, but I feel like Florida is more than talented enough to put up 40-45 in a half, but holding any team to 15 is pretty great.

My second post was 100% sarcastic. Sorry that didn't come across.

As far as you listing the Power 6 only, that's pretty funny. I think that there a few High-Majors above some of the Power 6 this year...The SEC and PAC12 are sort of weak this year and I think that the MWC, A10, WCC, and CUSA might be ranked ahead of them in the conference rankings...

I bet there is at least one or two PAC or SEC team that has been down by 30 at half :)

Edit: Nope...only the MWC

Geron Johnson's playing his fourth D1 game and has looked like a superstar against a Sweet 16 team returning its starters. It's early to invoke the names of Tyreke Evans or -- dare I say -- Derrick Rose when describing the influence he's having on the court, but I just did. So there. Shaq Goodwin has been unbelievable, too. He's a freshman in December and he looks like a three-year starter.

Memphis is up 80-58 on Ohio and that number feels deceptively small. Easily one of the most brutally dominant performances I've seen in the Pastner era.

So the Big 12 finished higher in football than the SEC. And thus far is leading in basketball. Wonder how much longer MU tools (redundant?) will wear their SEC shirts in pride.

Everyone was jocking Ohio's dicks this year saying they deserved to be ranked by now. That's probably a better win than you'll get credit for.

We play you next year...Selfishly, I hope it's here. Either way within the next 2 years. Home and Home.

I would guess the courts would he far enough apart that the players would learn pretty quick which whistles were for their game. Plus context cues.

LOUISVILLE ....BITCHES

Ultra Peanut 12-15-2012 02:41 PM

This is classic Memphis-Louisville so far. Incalculable intensity, crowd going completely nuts, huge runs and brutal (non-)fouls. My heart is pounding just from watching this.

DJ Stephens picked a perfect time to have the best half of basketball he's ever played in his life. He's so beloved by the fanbase and totally deserves it.

But, last game I watched them (the actual game slips my mind) they looked terrible.

They were playing like a B10 team.

And nothing like a potential win during a loss!

Memphis is still painfully inconsistent, and last night's game was way too close for way too long, but at least DJ Stephens and Shaq Goodwin still own.

But, that might be an insult to the MVC.

Oh, without a doubt.

There were a couple of posters who had a hard deciphering between an opinion and fact.

Both of them have disappeared from this thread. One is probably getting ready for prom while the other is lifting weights or something.

But who can blame then when their teams are two horrifically bad B10 teams.

snore.....

basketball around the country as a whole is in a down year.

there aren't really any elite teams (maybe Louisville), but there are a lot of really really good teams. There are about 10-12 teams that can probably make a good run for a final four.

this is why college basketball is so great though. on any given day an inferior team can beat a superior team if things go their way.

i understand the "every given Sunday" mentality when it comes to CBB.
