Just a FYI:

It's no coincidence that I have 5 RB's on my roster who are the bell cows of their respective teams.

While I am willing to trade one of these backs, I'm unwilling to take some slapdick(s) in return.

I'm deep at the position, and intend to stay that way unless someone offers a starting caliber WR as part of a deal.

Thank you.

Good night.

And God Bless America.

I have three very solid WRs and two solid QBs, so I'm open to trading for a RB if something works for you.

That's the thing: Im not desperate for a WR. Sure, mine aren't sexy, but they should get the job done. They shouldnt need to do much considering I have three Top 8 backs starting.

I'm sure as shit not giving up Brown and Benson for trash like Boldin and Meachem.

I'll look at your roster though.

Sofa King 08-27-2012 04:30 PM

I have a feeling there are going to be some very rb hungry teams in the league this year.

The Franchise 08-27-2012 04:32 PM

It sucks dick that after the draft.....Jonathan Stewart twists his ankle. Now I'm praying that Bradshaw and Lynch go down.

Marshall is the only WR I'd be interested in, but I doubt I'd be willing to meet your price. Again, I'm just not desperate.

I'll just out it out there - Brown or Benson can be had, along with one of my WR's for a quality WR.

If anyone is interested, you know what to do.

If not, I'm perfectly content with my team as-is. I'm sitting pretty, IMO.

I'll probably offer you a trade 2 weeks into the season when half my veteran team goes down with pulled hammies and strained groins.

QB is my only real weakness, and even then, I wouldn't be shocked if Cutler threw for 4K and 30 this year.

Think I'm going to stay put. I like the way I have things set up.

If I can upgrade slightly at WR, great. If not, I still feel I'm going to be a nightmare matchup on a weekly basis.

Sofa King 08-28-2012 10:15 AM

just looking at the divisions.

I got pretty lucky being in the division that I am in. Hootie's team sucks and DaKcman has no rbs.

I think i match up with all those other teams well.

Actually, those aren't set in stone. I had to reset things because for some reason, two teams were scheduled for a bye each week. I was going to split it up based on last years standings, but can't get to it until late afternoon.

Put Hootie in as the automatic last place team.

I actually set those according to the standings last year. 1st place team in 1 division, 2nd in the other, 3rd in the 1st, 4th in the other and so on....

figured that was about as fair as it could get.

It must have gotten reset when I bumped the draft back. I went in to look at the schedule, and there were two teams that had a bye each week.

It's set that way now, ready to roll. Figured since I still have LM access it was easier to just take a sec to fox it instead of PM'ing you to do it.

I put cabletech on dakcman's account as second owner in an attempt to have someone available for the draft but that didn't work.We could ask him if he wants to be transferred to hooties and then we can delete hootie's stupid ass.

That is what i would do.

Anyone who thinks Hootie is going to take his team seriously needs to get their head checked. He checked out of the draft after MJD, Brees and Graham.

Your starters win championships.

If your top 2 or 3 players crater, you're boned anyway. Depth is overrated in fantasy leagues.

I have Rodgers and Rice - that's good enough for me, especially with AJ Green also in the fold. Oh, and when Ryan Williams takes the job from Beanie Wells, Floyd becomes the #1 in SD, Ryan Matthews comes back healthy and Britt returns as the destroyer of worlds he was becoming last season, you're all in trouble.

The only truly horrific pick I made was Helu; I was price enforcing and quickly regretted it. That was money that could've salvaged my TE position. Or I could've gone after McFadden or Jackson instead of Matthews with the extra money. Just a very stupid pick on my part; a 'cheap' guy I grabbed out of frustration and immediately wished I hadn't.

This has likely been covered earlier in the thread, but it's not in the OP:

Is this a keeper league? If someone took over Hootie's team, would they inherit a better draft position next year? I might be interested, provided there's no financial detriment in doing so :D

I could have sworn it worked like this.

Team A bids $40 for a player. Team B bids $35 for the same player. Team A would win and pay $36 for the player.

Am I wrong? Do I not have something set up correctly in my league? Because the same situation just happened and it made Team A pay $40 for the player.

You're wrong.

FAAB auctions do not work like Dutch auctions (your bid goes up to the highest amount necessary) rather they work like silent bid auctions - if you win, you pay what you bid.

So in the scenario you posted, Team A pays $40 because he won the bid with that figure. It encourages intelligent, but not reckless, bidding. Otherwise you'd just bid over what you think his actual value is and let the Dutch Bid bail your ass out.

Hootie and Deez also outbid you. Each one by at least $30.

Just call yourself Scott Pioli, dude. You run your fantasy team just like him.

What was Hoot at? I honestly thought $41 would do it, but apparently I wasn't sniffing the acquisition.

No doubt. I refuse to trust Shanahan. I was riding the Hightower train last year before he pulled the rug out from under me.

Hootie bid $48. If you go down to the bottom of the league homepage at the end of the transaction list, click on "Free Agent Auction Report"

It's worth the risk, I think. If Morris beats the 50/50 odds and Shanahan finally decides that he needs a primary RB in order to succeed, the $68 of free agent money is a bargain for a low-end starter/flex RB.

Besides who the hell else am I going to acquire besides a replacement defense? Our benches are 9 deep. Most people on here shouldn't even need to go to the waiver wire besides to buy/sell backups hoping they'll be future starters one day.
