But I was told by PB and Bambi that college football doesn't matter and the Big 12 is the best conference in the land.

They ran all over Tech. It was unreal. They literally ran like 36 straight times to end the game.

Losing three bowl games on the same December day, that's not especially easy, even for the Big X.

Conference's flagship football program gets worked by an ACC team with a backup QB.

Texas getting pummeled in a home bowl game.

WV blows a ten point lead and is losing by 15 until a garbage time TD. To the ninth place team in the SEC.

Poor Bambino and PB. Forced to resort to arm flailing.

Saul Good 12-30-2014 09:25 AM

Texas, Oklahoma, and West Virginia were out scored yesterday 116-50 by the bottom of the SEC West and Clemson (a team that lost by 24 to Georgia and didn't beat a ranked team all year).

Way to humiliate yourselves on your showcase day. Three bowl games played...all involving Big 12 teams...all ass kickings.

Saul Good 12-30-2014 09:29 AM

I want to hear an argument for TCU in the playoffs today.

Here are their wins...in order

FCS team
11 loss AAC team
4 loss B1G team (underdog in their next game)
-----------------------conference schedule
6 loss team
8 loss team
6 loss team
3 loss team (underdog in their next game)
9 loss team
7 loss team
10 loss team

Talk about running the gauntlet...

Eleazar 12-30-2014 09:51 AM

Also goes to show how much a fluke win that OU win over Alabama was last year. Maybe Stoops should have shut his mouth. His team was average in an average conference and just got pounded by a Clemson team playing without it star QB. Alabama is in the running for yet another NC.

That was hilarious. The same people who call the SEC overrated had Oklahoma in the top 10 for the first half of the season all because of a single fluke win against a team that finished second in its division in the SEC (and was the fourth highest ranked SEC team to end the season).

The irony is that the SEC East has as many teams in the top 20 as the entire Big XII in spite of how "weak" it is supposedly according to some on here.

According to Sagarin, here are the top 15 teams in terms of strength of schedule.

1. Auburn
2. LSU
3. Arkansas
4. Alabama
5. Texas A&M
6. Mississippi
7. Tennessee
8. Georgia
9. Florida
10. UCLA <--------Not SEC
11. Mizzou
12. Kentucky
13. South Carolina
14. Mississippi State
15. Vanderbilt

There are 14 teams in the SEC, and every one of them played a top 15 schedule according to the oracle.

It's weak according to nearly every analyst, and nearly every data system. The only people who think otherwise are MU fans who are defensive about beating nobodies.

The Big X not only ranks below both divisions of the SEC, but below the half the PAC12, ACC, and the supposedly terrible B1G. In fact, the Big X (75.33) is closer to the B1G-West (73.2) than it is to the SEC East (79.1).

The distance between the Big X and the SEC West is about the same as the distance between the Big X and the weaker division of the Mountain West.

According to Sagarin, the best team in the Big X would rank 4th in the SEC-West, just slightly ahead of Auburn.

You can't bring up Sagarin, Saul says he's an idiot.

But to your point, you are reading it wrong. In the Predictor he's got them 1/2 point behind Ole Miss for 2nd and that's within the standard error of the data. Sagarin would never say a 1/2 point proves one team is better than the other just as nobody would say a 3.0 WAR baseball player > 2.9 WAR.

Besides, that'll change this upcoming week anyway just as the Big 12 slid from a tie with the Least by two blowouts yesterday.

With oklahoma throttling Alabama and FSU dumping all over Auburn in the title game one may soon be thinking that the ACC has taken over as the country's premiere football conference.

Perhaps Oregon can swing things in the playoffs.
