Make sure it's set to broadcast on both frequencies.

Also, give each network a unique name like Lewdog for 2.4 and Lewdog5 for 5g.

Also, if you haven't done so, be sure to make them secure networks with unique passwords.

In the Router GUI, Click on Network Map.
You'll see both your 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz settings there. See what that says. It should show you what devices are connected to both wifi frequencies.

Find whether the device in question is connecting to the 2.4 or the 5Ghz wifi. If both wifi frequencies aren't turned on, make sure they are as Dane said.

Also, Enable WEP Encription.

Under no circumstances should you be running an unsecured network

That may be my problem, do you have to manually "broadcast", or does it automatically do that once both have been given a name and password?

Both networks currently are named and have passwords... I feel so lost.

Are your devices "seeing" both networks?

If so, can you connect and surf the net?

No worries, nothing to feel lost about. Just look at each tab, both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and see which devices are connected to which frequency.

Now would be a good time to implement some router based rules to prevent your hubby from looking up horse porn again. Blacklist backpage.com and whatnot..
