Rhythm & Booze has a similar (better) deal - $20 for unlimited beer and wells from 7-11. I tried that once and was in rare form by the time I left, errr...was carried out.

I don't really have a huge problem with this, but I'd rather them set up "bouncers" and screen people before going in. They'll probably be doing that with this idea, but adding in the $5 entry as well. I think it's a good deal if I can carry my drinks from bar-to-bar ala Power and Light.

When I've asked you assholes on places to visit in KC, Westport is always mentioned. Now you're telling me they're having to charge an entry fee to keep violence down?

If you've ever lived in any decent sized metro area, Westport is nothing to be afraid of.

I have no problem with this...though it's not like there has been a bunch of violence just too many people...a lot of it because the area is thriving as are others.

I honestly don't understand and have not experienced this "violence" people talk about in KC aside from the very obvious problem spots out east. It's usually perpetuated by people who don't actually spend time in KC and don't know what they are talking about or at the very least have outdated perceptions of what KC is.

I lived on 44th and Jefferson for years. You're telling me you think an intersection right down the street from a complex full of retirees....between the Plaza and Westport is hood?

Owners didn't want to foot the bill for security for 100s of people outside of their business not spending money.

Westport is fun on the weekdays, but a bit trashy on the weekends

I don't go down there very often anymore, but it seems like it has gotten worse the past couple years in terms of fights and just general douchebaggery

I hate Harpos and there is always shit going down by Gusto
