Still a shitty system overall.

Last year or the year before they had JC rated low because he was running by defenders instead of breaking tackles, or some such reeruned shit.

**** PFF.

Well one. Alex Smith bottom 5 of the league. Last three games top 10 qb based on play. Not stats, play.

Just another tool, use it to help your arguments when it supports it and denounce it when it doesn't. Par for the course.

I agree. With the exception of a couple QB's rated higher because of lopsided stats in a game or two it seems about right. On the other hand there's a couple QB's that should be higher if not for the same reason.

Yeah, there are some head scratchers there, but Alex is right where he currently belongs... hanging around the fringes of elite.

The good news is theres a lotta season left for him to break through to the upper echelon.

They have Brandon Flowers ranked as their top CB.

Cornerbacks: Brandon Flowers, SD and Perrish Cox, SF with Brandon Boykin, PHI in the slot

How quickly things can change. The Chargers’ latest reclamation project has seen them provide the platform for Flowers to rekindle his past relationship with looking excellent on the field. He’s our top-ranked corner, just ahead of Cox who might have kind have defaulted his way into a starting job, but is making it count now.

Honorable Mention: Antonio Cromartie (ARZ) and Prince Amukamara (NYG)

How does Alex Smith have a -0.6 "run" rating?

I've seen more than enough to know he's nowhere near a bottom 16 QB.

I can't believe you're really trying to defend this idiocy.

Not just that, look at Peyton's 'run'.

Can't remember which game, but he did try to escape pressure and run up the middle, only to get stripped of the ball. I bet this dropped his run rating down quite a bit. Though I agree that -0.6 still seems very low for what he overall brings with his legs.

The best rushing QB according to that chart is Ryan Fitzpatrick. He has 3 fumbles (2 more than Smith) and 45 less yards rushing on the same number of attempts.

well then... PFF clearly has some problems. I was always a bit skeptical of how they could account for so many things. Looks like they just.. can't.

ViperVisor 10-02-2014 03:15 PM

Smith doesn't have a rushing TD and only 1 first down run a game.

With such a small sample size of runs I guess that fumble cost him like -1.

MagicHef 10-02-2014 03:21 PM

Alex is only 2/7 on converting 3rd downs with his legs, maybe that has something to do with it?
