Eh, she's only dumb relative to the rest of the cast, really. When I think of "dumb blonde," I think a lot dumber than she is.

Usually those few I run into that don't like the show, don't like it for a few reasons:

1. They don't get the jokes
2. It's not stereo-typed, profanity, soft-core porn laced innuendo in every other sentence
3. It's not about pot smoking, all night drink binging and how many people can I **** in 1 evening
4. Ain't no baby momma's or daddy's

Holy crap, what CP bet did you lose to have to sport a Sheldon avatar?

1. The jokes being understood is why it sucks 8 inches of pure Swedish beef.
2. Not even kinda true. You can be funny without profanity.
3. Pot smoking isn't funny.
4. What?

Dumb blonde was Jessica Simpson when her and Nick Lachey filmed their Newlyweds reality TV show. "It says Chicken of the Sea. Does that mean it's chicken or tuna?"

Well, obviously, that's just your own personal preference. It has very high ratings for reason. It's well liked and popular.

Britney Spears sold record setting albums. George W. Bush was re-elected. Appealing to authority isn't a good measure of quality. Especially when we're discussing sitcom television that usually dominates because of the channel it airs on.

Well, yeah, even that guy she dated who thought the sun glasses were for 3D when they guys were doing that laser experiment on the moon. Boy, he was he dumb! Hilarious when the three scientists were making quips inside the apartment to him, and they went completely over his head as well. LMAO

That's not an appeal to authority. That's an appeal to ratings = popularity = cash cow= success. It's the market speaking. It has the last say. It doesn't mean it applies to everyone. It is a successful program by all typical standards.

You want to know a show that was consistently hilarious and seldom used any profanity at all? MASH.

Appeal to ratings is an appeal to authority. The appeal to authority is a form of argument attempting to establish a statistical syllogism, ie television ratings.

I don't think it is a horrible sitcom, but the Big Mac comment is about spot on. I really enjoyed Silicon Valley from HBO which I think does everything BBT does, but much better because it is on cable without network restrictions, and the characters are allowed to have more sophisticated humor.

I remember that one. I thought she was hamming it up for the camera though.

That show was good until Alan Alda started menstruating.

I haven't watched SV yet but to play the role of Sheldon Cooper is nothing short of some of the best acting I have seen in a long time. Just imagine yourself trying to not only spout off the lines of Cooper but to maintain the posture and attitude that Parsons does.
