My wife makes amazing chocolate chip cookies. One of the secrets is using browned butter instead of regular butter.

Word on the street is your mom makes the best cookies, however she typically ends up with a fair amount of batter in her mouth.

McDonalds has chocolate chip cookies. Not the little things in a box from the old days, but freshly baked ones that are fairly big. I guess they've had them for a while now, but I only had some for the first time over the weekend.

They were great. I was shocked and amazed.

OK, for us food-illiterate sons of bitches, what is browned butter?

It butter that's been melted to the point where all the water in the butter boils and the milk solids begin to brown. It takes on a deep buttery, nutty flavor that's amazing. In warm chocolate chip cookies, it has an almost butterscotch or caramel quality that's delicious.

I cook with brown butter all the time. I'll make 2-3 pounds of it at a time in a dutch oven in the oven, stock some up in the fridge and use it everywhere.
