This.

I don't know if they are like Tulsa or not. Tulsa has basically zero basements in the houses. Hopefully Joplin is different.

Possibly. The Weather Channel reporter early on said they had witnessed dead bodies themselves. At one point during that live feed he told the photographer to not shoot something because it was a dead body.

Wow. My mother is in Joplin, I just heard she lost the cherry tree out of her front yard but her house is thankfully OK.

It went like "Look over there" camera pans over to see a group of people carrying something looking a body. "Okay no, don't look over there" as he palms the lens.

Shit, I have friends in that area. J Diddy lives around there as well.

SPchief 05-22-2011 07:59 PM

Residents 70 miles away from Joplin in Dade County were finding X-rays from St. John's in their driveways, said Foreman, indicating the size and power of the twister.

Thoughts go out to everyone in Joplin.

Just an FYI: discovery is running a storm chaser special on the Tuscaloosa and Arkansas storms right now.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 05-22-2011 08:11 PM

Wow, the live feed from the Emergency responders is wild to listen too. Getting help coming in from all over the place. Lots of buildings that need to be searched for injured people . . . most common adjective used is "destroyed".

Damn... just damn...

BigRedChief 05-22-2011 08:15 PM

J Diddly is from Joplin. Anyone got a way to contact him?
