I'm thinking that they wanted to see if he could go yesterday and he passed that assessment based on his participation and post-practice reports, and now they let him get the day off today since they know he's good to go.

They're just giving him a god damned day off. Sammy is going to play. Sammy is going to point at Peters' jersey, causing silly ol' Marcus to look down, and then Sammy is going to run his finger up Marcus' jersey and flick his face mask. Marcus is going to call Sammy a silly goose. Sammy is going to say "nah bruh, solar reptilian being" and will proceed to drop 200 yards and 3 touchdowns on Marcus' punk-bitch-ass.

Pretty sure I heard one of the KC star people say this was a different foot than he'd injured previously.

Maybe, but don’t count on it

Put Watkins in the lineup with the rest of the crew and it’s gonna be real tough to hold KC under 35. Not sure the same can be said when he’s not in there.

If Watkins being in or out of the lineup didn’t make a pretty darn big difference, KC wouldn’t have paid him $16M per year.

They go from one of the all-time great units probably to just very good without him.
