The anticipation is killing me: will it be Chad Billingsley or Johan Santana?

I'm hoping for Kyle Farnsworth

I never heard this. Where did you hear this?

My question is why did Holliday, Waino, Molina etc call Scherzer and try to convince him to come here. Why would they make those calls unless they had talked to Mo? Some assurance that it was a possibility, that the Cardinals had and was willing to spend the money?

You know he has to sign for more than what he already rejected.

He had hip surgery in the offseason.

Selfishly I want them to trade for Cole but the more wise decision is probably scherzer as that's only money

It's also a first round pick.

O.city 01-10-2015 09:53 AM

That's true.

We're know Cole and Heidi personally so I hope they get to come to STL. I know that's a team he was excited about he thought of pitching for

What kind, major, minor? He looked pretty damn fast when he actually got on base. How would the hip issue prevent him from hitting better but still allow him to run the bases fast?

Scherzer or Cole?

O.city 01-10-2015 09:59 AM

Scherzer got the qualifying offer, I forgot about that

Thats right. We just cant give Scherzer money. A first rounder is lost. STL loves their draft picks more than top shelf pitching.

Hamas, what would be better losing the first rounder or Gonzalez/Bourjas/Piscotty for Hamels?

Seems to me that the first rounder has less value.

Wondering if Scherzer has maybe overplayed his hand a touch but Boras has managed to hit late in the offseason before. A 150-200M contract plus a draft pick could be rough long term. Like you were leading to I guess it makes a trade more attractive.

Doesn't Hamels still have $150+ million left on his contract?
