I honestly think the biggest problem with our system is our pitching development program in the minors. It would be one thing if just a few of our pitching prospects were struggling. But ALL of our pitching prospects struggle, despite having very projectable stuff.

They usually do pretty well through the AA transition, especially at High-A Wilmington.

It's been the transition to AAA and above that has stalled most of them.

Rick Knapp will make serious changes... but he was hired 3 years too late.

He can work his magic on his newcomers, but what's to be done with Monty, Lamb and Dwyer? They will not have a place in our rotation because we will have some serviceable pitchers signed for 4-5 years and in 2014 we get Duffy and Paulino back. I suppose if Hoch has a hot half we could trade him to open up a spot for Lamb in 2013 (assuming he's ready.)
