Bases loaded for the Cards. Rally cap on.
|
Cards score. 7-2. 1 out, runners on 2nd and 3rd. C'mon Cards.
|
Whoo! Martinez redeems himself with a double! 7-4!
|
C'mon Goldy, one time.
|
Jose can rake. Be perfect in the AL
|
Goldy's a tenth of second from hitting a dinger.
|
Seven straight strikeouts. And the extension hasn't even kicked in yet. **** me.
|
Whiff...
|
Ozuna and Goldy have been a black hole this series.
|
That's literally the worst AB I've ever seen in my life.

Well, at least we're back in the game. And we still have 12 outs to tie this up.

Ozuna doesnt want to cancel his offseason plans he made for tomorrow.

It slammed the brakes on any momentum you guys had. God damn
|
3 up, 3 down. C'mon Cards.

They were good last series so we should have seen this coming. |

Thank you, Gallegos. Great job.

It's the Cards. What choice do I have.
Heart of the line-up coming up. |

C'mon Yadi. One more time.

Ouch

C'mon Dejong. Redeem yourself right here.

BASES LOADED
|
Biggest AB of the series.
|
Game & Series on the line here.
|
Man, Hudson is bringing it.
|
|
What a letdown.
|
And marp does what marp does.
|
Well at least that was interesting.

Welp, that sucked.

Isn't that the scenario they have him for?

It's October 15th, but I can feel that Carpenter hot streak is right around the corner!

I assume he's got his tee time set for tomorrow. |
Man those stupid runs we gave up in the first on errors and botched plays loom large now.
|
Well, at least they doubled their run output of the previous three games. Baby steps.
Too bad it's not a 20 games series. marp and the boys would have the Nats right where they want 'em. |

Andrew Miller pitching really well.

Better season than expected, see this thread next year boys.
Go Nats, beat whatever powerhouse AL team you see in the WS. |

Nice job, Nats. Go win a Series.

Congrats Expos.

The shift has basically made Carpenter a bad player. He needs to figure that shit out because we are stuck with him for a few more years.

Would be cool to see the Nationals beat whatever freight train they have coming their way but they are going to have to pitch much more efficiently with their starters and I dont see how that happens vs either one of those AL offenses.

Season in a paragraph. Way more than I was expecting back in April. Overperformed by any measure by the fans that post in here anyway.

Lmao pwned
|
I didn't expect much from the Cards this year, so getting to the playoffs and winning against the Braves was more than I hoped for.
I realized as I watched the last inning that we have a great franchise in the Cardinals. They've won 11 championships, been to the playoffs dozens of times. A lot of teams have never been to a LCS. A lot of teams just hope for a winning season. Or just a chance at making the playoffs. We can expect more virtually every year. We'll be back. You can count on it. |
Helsley with a 0.00 ERA in the playoffs.

Post season thoughts:
173 teams have played at least 4 games in an LCS. The Cardinals were the worst team of those 173 teams in BA, slugging% and OBS%. Not the best way to end the season. But, we knew it could happen. This offense disappears for a series or a week at a time. Mo has saddled us with overpaid expensive aging players. We need consistent and better position players. We did sweep the Cubs at Wrigley to knock them out of the playoffs. We won the division. Made the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Actually won a playoff series against a better and more talented team. Way more than I thought this team would accomplish this year. We have a legit #1 starter. Legit difference making position player talent coming in the next couple of years. Maybe Carlson next year? Most here thought this season was going to be crap, and it was for large parts of the season. I guess we just need to enjoy the good times like Game 4, from the 8th inning thru game 5 of the LDS. |

That’s the only time I even give it a thought but I still can’t get into it. I’d change the rules to allow for more scoring. I don’t get icing or offsides at all. It takes the fast break away in my opinion. Stupid rule. |

I am sure many of you will be ready to take away my fan card after the following sentence....
But I dont know why there has been zero talk about how pathetic Yadier Molina was with the bat this postseason. He was constantly coming up in big spots with men on base and failing. One sac fly is literally all I can remember from his postseason. And that's not enough when others are struggling. |
Quote:
You have to have the icing rule otherwise a team that had any kind of a lead could just sling the puck the length of the ice at every opportunity. Icing makes the team with the lead have to continue to play hockey. Getting rid of off-sides has been considered from time to time. Not sure if it would make the game better or worse. But the reality is that it's just hard to score in hockey. the goal isn't very big, and the goaltenders are just really good. A 'bad' goalie will allow just 3 or so goals in a game on average. But I get it; hockey isn't for everyone. I got into it because a friend of mine played in high school and played a bit as a minor league goalie. |

Most of our hitters sucked this postseason. |
Wasn't Yadi one of the few Cards that actually got some hits in the post-season?
Not saying he was great at bat, but let's be real, Yadi's importance to the team is behind the plate, not at bat. And his leadership. |
