Question regarding FA; maybe more of a quirk than anything.

I see Travis Frederick has popped up as an available FA, the first round pick for the Cowboys in 2013. I was a little surprised that he wasn't drafted so I figured maybe he went unsigned by his sandbox team and was thus cast into the pool.

Well I looked through the draft board and he really was never drafted. However, when I looked through the 'available' players that could've been drafted during the draft, I didn't see him on there either.

Was there a hiccup here where he didn't end up draft-eligible?

Shaun Lauvao G on a 2 year deal
Bryant McKinnie LT Miami on a 1 year deal
Khaled Holmes C 5 year deal (2nd string rookie in Indy)

There was a glitch in the draft system where one of the teams got two players with one pick. One of those players was Frederick. No one noticed for like 2 or 3 rounds. Brorth finally noticed when he was on the clock. But it would not have been fair to throw Frederick back in the draft at that point, since undoubtably someone else would have picked him way before then. So we decided to leave him out of the draft and throw him into the FA pool.

He snagged Rodgers, a 1st and 2 starting CBs today. Not a bad overhaul at all.

Granted, giving up Luck had to hurt, especially with that long-term contract, but he's been awfully excited about the way his WRs and RBs have played this season and was looking to compete immediately.

I gotta admit, if he's not a favorite at this point, he's up there.

Wichita has a mild surplus at LT though I really need one of them at RT. I've got Nate Solder and Jermon Bushrod at LT and half a season of Sebastian Vollmer at RT. I've also got Luke Joeckel and Menelik Watson on the bench. We need TE, C, DE4, FS, and HB.

Dallas has depth at G with John Jerry, Gino Gradkowski, James Carpenter, and Rob Sims. We need RT, QB, TE, and WR.

Duluth has extra depth at C (Kyle Cook) and G (Chris Williams, Harvey Dahl). We have no strong needs, but could stand an upgrade at TE, OLB, DE, and FS and perhaps backup HB or OT.

I don't have access to the database, but I'm looking back through the trade announcements and I don't see where any of them traded away any picks.

Dallas made a trade where they traded a player and a low pick for a 2nd rounder back in May, but I'm 99.93 percent sure that it was the last draft, not a future draft.
